Food is very good, but very overpriced. I have places that I go to that the food is just as good and about a 1/3 less money. I wouldn't really complain if the service was over the top, but it is not. Extra charges for too many things.
Good shushi ! Great quality !
I found this gym on the way home to St. Pete. A very cozy little sushi place that has a very welcoming interior. The pillows on the seats make it a good touch. I was greeted at the door by two. Very sweet ladies. Lily and Lulu. Turns out that Lily is the owner. They walked through the menu and gave me a bunch of different suggestions which never happens. They took their time to show me what's good and what the specials were. She told me they she has been the owner there for 15 years and will not expand the her restaurant because it may bring down the service. Love to hear that. I had the tuna special and a few other rolls and they were the bomb.
Ridiculously too expencive for what it is! 16$ for a sushi roll way too small for what is it worth and 16$ for a 2 bites tuna tartar…I do not recommand!
So as someone who grew up here and has watched Boynton Beach grow up as well it is very disenchanting and disappointing to be told I cannot eat somewhere because there is reservations for all the outside tables at 7 when I'm standing there, by myself, ready to order food and sit outside at 6:20 and the hostess made sure to add they were busy with to go orders and the kitchen was very busy so I could only sit inside if I wanted to eat there. I took some pictures because I normally do not leave reviews like this, especially for a local business but I asked for a manager and was told there was not one by the little young hostess and I asked for the owners name which she replied was "Lucy". Long story short I was literally turned away, told I could not sit down and eat and other people had reserved these tables nearly an hour from now. Firstly no business in their right mind turns away good customers like myself, a well dressed businessman who usually tips excessively and certainly is not hard up for money - but furthermore why would you reserve tables and make reservations so far out in advance and allow them to sit there and literally lose money for your busines? It makes no sense, I certainly won't be returning and the way Sushi Simon treats people " without a reservation" here in Boynton Beach (despite a mostly empty restaurant) and literally all their tables empty outside, is downright laughable because the food here was subpar last time I visited anyways but I was bored and in the mood for Sushi. I'll be going to Lemongrass on Gateway and Congress where they have excellent fresh sushi and excellent customer service along with a manager on staff not a teenage hostess who refuses to sit people to eat in empty tables sitting outside. As I type this in my car probably 15 minutes later now the tables are still empty, I could have already ben sat, gotten tea and put in my order. If you are reading this, don't waste your time with this uppity ungrateful place because this is exactly the kind of bad business that is making Boynton Beach turn more into Boca everyday. Do not support Sushi Simon, there are far better choices for sushi in Boynton Beach. Lemongrass has 5 star service and food everytime and I won't stray from them again!
I’ve always been very satisfied with he food and the service but I tried to bring my family while they were in town (6 of us) and we were turned away with them telling us they could not accommodate 6 while we could visibly see several empty tables that could have been put together to make a 6 tip. Very disappointing! I will hesitate to bring guest here in the future.
Update: I patronized this place for years due to the variety and high quality. Ordered a sushi sashimi boat the other day and it was all salmon, tuna and escolar with one piece of wild salmon and one cooked shrimp.Same as every sushi place around, but more expensive.Long story short: No longer worth the trip.********One of the best around in terms of fish variety and quality. Pricier than most but also better quality than all but a few.
Good sushi option while in the area. There is a small area to sit outside as well. The menu has a lot of signature sushi but a lot of them involve cream cheese which is not my personal favorite. They have a few options of sake tasters which can be a great while eating your sushi.
They can’t even make a cucumber roll properly and when they do they charge you double the price. Lemon grass is better and cheaper even though it’s on the Avenue. Honestly I don’t know what these guys are thinking wiith the price they charge. Go elsewhere, it’s not that great and it’s way overpriced.
Exceptional cuisine paired with excellent, and personable service.A hidden gem.
