Order was not submitted at all for kids quesadillas and then came out wrong. When it meals came out. They were burnt. My cheese enchiladas were cold.
While I personally had a great meal, the overall experience was stressful and unenjoyable. I ordered my 2 children cheese quesadillas. When our meals came, our sons’ meals weren’t brought out. We mentioned this, and they went back to the kitchen. About 10 minutes later a different employee came out to tell us the fryer wasn’t on and that was why their meals weren’t ready. Only one of my kids got fries, so I’m thinking our waitress didn’t put their orders in. A few minutes later, their meals come out and they are incorrect. They gave both boys chicken quesadillas. They take them back again, and by the time they bring out the correct food, everyone else had finished their meals and the cheese quesadillas they did bring out were burnt, so my kids didn’t even eat them. At this point their meals should’ve been taken off our bill completely, but we didn’t want to cause more issues. They offered us no discount at all. In addition, I had asked for cheese sauce on the side of my dinner and when my meal came it was mixed in and I didn’t realize. So I asked for a side of queso. However, as she was walking away I realized it was in my meal and my husband walked up to her and told her we didn’t need the cheese, since was mixed in. I guess she didn’t understand him, because another waitress still brought it out and they charged us $6.50 for a side of queso. ? Had we complained, this all might’ve changed, but we shouldn’t have to complain…they should’ve proactively done something to make things right without us complaining.
Been a regular at the Bonita location for quite a while. Drink prices (for anything not in a dispenser) are just insane. Margaritas were already expensive at $15, but now $16.75?!!
USED to be a favorite, sadly no longer. Prices have increased considerably, which is understandable but the portions have dramatically decreased, ($18.00 for a chimichanga that was literally the size on my fist.) Was then completely floored that chip/salad refills are now $3. To make matters worse we kept having to ask for a drink refills multiple times to multiple people, in the end we finally got our first refill about ten minutes after our food arrived…do yourself a favor and go to Iguana Mia half a mile away and avoid this place entirely.
This was our first visit to Senor Tequila's in Bonita Springs, but won't be our last. My husband's burrito & my chimichunga were delicious. My hubby's margaritas was also perfect!
The salsa, guacamole, and street tacos are authentic and delicious. The new outdoor dining was relaxing and the staff was attentive.
We had an hour wait to sit down which isnt horrible on a Saturday night, but just call ahead for reservations. We didnt feel like the quality taste of the food justified the hour wait. Queso was good, but $10. They offer mild or hot salsa. The chips were good. I had the shrimp tacos which were very good. I added sour cream, avacoda, and tajin. An order was made incorrectly, but they fixed it promptly. The rice and beans are very bland and not much flavor. The takitos were dry. The jalapeño margarita had alot of jalapeños in it which made it too spicy, but it was good. Our waitress was very nice, kept us informed, and kept our drinks filled.
I've been to this location four or five times in the last six years, and every time I'd only had two for one happy hour margaritas. The tortilla chips and salsa are great, so I'd never had a problem. This time though, I'd come early for happy hour and drinks were full price. I also had not eaten the night before so I ordered lunch-chimichanga with ground beef. I've been in more than a few chain Mexican places in the past, from Chi-chi's back in the day to most of the current chains across the country. Believe me when I say this is not one of the better places to eat Mexican food. The refried beans were seemingly out of a can, dry and tasteless. The rice needed spices and was very dry. The chimichanga was loosely constructed, with tasteless ground beef and a lack of anything memorable inside. Despite being overly hungy, I barely touched any of it. Tacos, enchiladas and many other items populate the menu, so though I think it unlikely, there might be a gem here. They are a chain across the country, so there may be variations and I just hit a bad one. But this time, even the margaritas were disappointing in plastic disposable cups instead of their normal glasses. The five gallon jug of glowing green margarita mix inadvertently left on the counter kiboshed any love once had for their cocktails. The chips, however, were excellent. My advice is avoid for dinner at all times until you try it once at lunch. 2 stars
Lunch here today! Our very first visit.Food very good. Service Excellent. Margarit's divine. For sure we will be back!
Okay, this place is definitely authentic Mexican food. You walk in and the ambiance is perfect. The smells (if you’re Hispanic) take you back to your grandma’s kitchen so needless to say I was anxious to see how the food actually taste. The chips and salsa were good ✔️. The service was okay. They took a while to attend us but we weren’t in a rush and the were kinda busy. We ordered: taco salad with shredded beef, shrimp cocktail and a steak quesadilla with sauce. Everything came out and looked amazing. Pictures were taken ✔️➕. Then time to eat. Huh ? what can I say. My meat tasted a smoked but not in a good way, in a small hint of maybe it almost burned ?. So I couldn’t finish it even though I tried ??♀️. My husband’s shrimp cocktail was good. And I’m not sure about the quesadilla because we took it to go. Overall the experience to me was good because I had a nice night with my honey. We talked, laughed, tried to finish our mess and came home. All good. I always trust that the people reading my reviews have a better experience than mine (especially if mine was so-so or bad) so I wish you the best! #enjoy. Make memories and good or bad at least try it once… then keep going. ?
