My cheeseburger was massive and delicious. The onion rings were just shy of perfection. The potato chips were a great surprise. The Arnold Palmer was just right. All went well and the service was fast . I really enjoyed my meal.
This was an odd place. Not odd in a good way euther. They have discounts on drinks and menu items with stipulations and rules, like your back at Camp. I want food and drinks not hoops to jump through. We both ordered a Corona with Lime. The "waiter" brought us both a Corona Light. Never ever do I do DIet anything. So I asked about it - I was rudely told that my drink was a Corona and proceeded to argue with me. 10 minutes of twirrpy twirp telling ME the intricacies of the Corona line of products. Ordered a Bud. Took a few sips and never stepped foot inside Lake House again and we were staying at the Trianon in Bonita. Never ate at the other restaurant either - Ye Old Florida Flop House - same ad gimmick at the Lake House - rules and more rules. We drove to all of our meals off the property. You can't tell a Corona from a Corona LIGHT... you will screw up my food. 0% confidence in the quality and overall experience if I would of dove deeper and dined there.
My daughter and I ate here last night to celebrate some of her latest accomplishments. I found the atmosphere of this restaurant to be very relaxing, comfortable and popular. The music as lively but not too loud and the service was great. We both enjoyed our food. She ordered a pulled pork sandwich with no coleslaw and macaroni and cheese on the side (yes, she's a picky eater as she's autistic) and I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with a side of their homemade coleslaw. Then we split a piece of chocolate cake to celebrate (I rarely order dessert). Thanks for an enjoyable meal. We'll be back!
Experience yesterday when presented my bill there was a highlight line that I understood as suggested gratuity of 27.62 on $155 bill. So I paid and presented the server with a $40 cash tip! Turns out he walks away with a $67 tip!!! When I approached management they told me too bad it was your mistake! Bad business taking advantage of Seniors out to lunch. All we wanted in good faith was a credit for the $27.62
4.50 for an ice tea or soda pop! Ribs were old and dry. Do not order fish & Chips, they are just frozen fish sticks, now. The setting is beautiful and service was ok.I used to love going here but things have changed since the pandemic and inflation. Portions and quality is being compromised and it shows.
My very lovely sprightly and compus mentos 92 yr old friend suggested we go to this great place she’s often been to before with her golfing ladies. She lives local, whilst I’m a Brit! Well we arrived at 3 for Happy Hour. We were shown to a lovely table overlooking the lake. (Very few people in there upon arrival). A young server came up and introduced himself as Matt, and would be our server. Said he’d get some water. When he came back we were looking at the menu. His first comment was “Happy Hour is 50% off food and $2 off drinks” yes, we said that’s great. His next comment was a little daunting though. “But you have to order alcoholic drinks to get the 50% off food” ?☹️. We said, yes, we were going to eat. We gave him our order including a G&T each. Good so far bar that little comment. It was a beautiful view and we were looking forward to our food. It came quite quickly, Chicken Quesadilla x 2 and the G&T x 2. Didn’t look particularly good but tasted great. Whilst eating it, an older couple came and sat down at the next table. Local from the way they were talking. Well he came up after a few minutes and “told them off” for sitting there. Said they should wait to be served. They told Matt that no one was at the front to seat them. So he told them they should have waited to be seated. (That in itself was so rude) . Anyway, he came to us and asked if we wanted a refill, I had half a glass left and my friend had an inch or so left. I replied not yet thank you, and she said “ don’t take my glass yet”. Next he brought the bill! Wow, really! We said no, we weren’t ready to go yet and would like another refill now please. Eventually he brought the bill back. He had split it into 2 tabs. But that was fine. So 2 G&T’s and a Quesadilla was $27. Plus a tip it said of 18%, came to $38. Bare in mind his was Happy Hour. We were looking at our bills, trying to work out how the tip had been worked out, he then arrived and asked if there was a problem. By then it had got busy. We tried to ask him how the tip was worked out as we were having a problem figuring it out. He shouted at us (I do mean shouted ) telling us that it was correct as the register does not make mistakes. When I asked him to lower his voice, not once but twice, his reply was… “YOU MUST BOTH BE INEBRIATED IF YOU CANT UNDERSTAND IT “. ???? I replied “excuse me, what did you just say” so he repeated it! He said if you don’t like it I’ll get the manager. I asked him to do just that. The manager came over and explained that the tip is added at the full price of the food & drink and not the Happy Hour price! ?? bit strange but ok. I explained that I was not asking about the tip at this point but at his severs attitude. I said how dare he speak to customers like that and especially at our ages. I said we had arrived at 3pm had only had 2 G&T’s each plus the food. He said he would have a word with him and should not have said that. I told the manager that I expected the server to come back and apologise to us for being so rude. When he came back with our cards he said “sorry for the confusion but I don’t understand why you are making such a fuss” I stood up and looked him in the eye and said “ how very rude of you to suggest we were drunk when we had 2 drinks in 2 & 3/4 hours! Unbelievable. He walked away and we got very dirty looks from all the staff on our way out. But I still managed to smile at them and say Thank you. Never again will we go there.
First impression was that the blond hostess is a total B... Made a huge deal about whether there would be 4 of us or 6 of us. We said please just give us a table, but she wouldnt let us in until our entire party was there. When we finally got a table. We noticed she put 2 people at a table for 4. What the...? Anyway the deal is that food is half off during happy hour. Well it should be as it is way overpriced to begin with. And drink prices are nuts. $7.50 for a small Yeungling draft???? Food was tasty and server Cherie was nice but when I got the bill (gratuity is added automatically) I did not feel like I had been to a happy hour. Anyway I wish them well. Plenty of other places to choose from
We stayed at the Trianon Hotel in Bonita Bay, beautiful place with great staff and amenities. One of which is the Lake House restaurant & bar. From 3:00 to 4:30 it’s half off all food and drink specials. The blackened fish tacos are loaded with lots of fish. The cheeseburger was also fantastic. Very good service as well. Went here 3 different times. A must go!!!
We were there with another couple for an early dinner. The location is lovely and it really does feel like a delicious/casual meal at a lake house. My wife ordered the salmon salad (without bacon) and it came as ordered. I had the barbecue brisket sandwich and a side of onion rings. The batter-fried onion rings were nothing special but the brisket sandwich was large and delicious, really one of the best I've had. Their signature cole slaw is truly great too. Their 3:00 - 4:30 discount made what would have otherwise been an expensive meal pretty reasonable. Although our party wasn't large, an 18% "automatic service fee gratuity" was added to the bill and was highlighted instead of buried in the fine print.
I have visited this establishment several times during my stay in Florida. I find the food quality is very good and I have sat both at the bar and in the restaurant seating, and I have had great, prompt and friendly service. There is a nice vibe to this place and I will return.
