We have been fans and supporters of Doug's for years. However, on a recent visit we had the worst food and it was clear things have changed with the new owners. the Clam chowder was watery, mostly potatoes and tasteless. We had the clams and oysters fried and they tasted as if the oil was bad. Both of us had GI issues and did not eat the food. Very sad for the Bonita Springs area

I am giving this a generous 4 star. The sandwich alone is very good and would easily get a five. The customer service is pretty sorry as far as when we placed our order. We were in on may 17 2023 at 1.11 as our bill shows. It was after lunch and no line. There were only two booths that had people in them so this was not rush hour. We placed an order for two large lobster rolls but immediately changed our mind to two small ones. We paid the young man who was working the register at that time and he said “ next time get it right the first time.” It wasn’t cute. It was insulting. We ate our sandwich, didn’t make a big deal and walked out. It burned me up that a young person thinks it’s okay to make smart remarks like that to two seniors. In fact, we will never go back there again. I don’t care if they have the best lobster rolls in the country. I do not need a punk attitude.

I’m going to be as nice as possible but not lie. When you walk in the smell is off putting. It’s a seafood establishment so it’s to be expected but cleaning with a little bleach can drastically minimize the smell. I ordered the clam chowder and there was no clam in my chowder, more potatoes than anything. When I was ordering my roll, the guys asked if I wanted chips as a side, me thinking I was getting fries was extremely disappointed when I received potato chips. It felt like a joke. Calling that thing a lobster roll is a huge reach. It might be lobster, it might not be. It’s served on a potato hot dog bun. Anywhoo, you order and your given a table number and they bring everything to you and just hand it to you. No trays, no actual plates. They’re operating cost might be low but their environmental impact is huge. The amount of waste this place must produce. Anyways, they have a soda fountain option where the soda is located on the other end of the restaurant, in the back. I did not enjoy this experience and I will not be back. I’m honestly shocked at all the other reviews or how this place is even open. Definitely smoke and mirrors.

I had ordered from Doug's twice before this last encounter. The first time I got a lobster roll, this was 2 years ago. Second time was about 7 months ago and I ordered the mixed platter. The lobster roll was just ok, for the price. The mixed platter was so over salted It was almost unbearable. So I got a lobster roll again a few days ago because I'm originally from Massachusetts and was craving one. I can tell having worked at a great seafood restaurant when I was younger, that the lobster was frozen and barely mixed into lobster salad. The roll was something you'd get with a wonky hotdogs normally. I will never be back. Not sure whom is running this place but it's horrible. Don't waste your time here. Take the ride to Steamers in Naples instead, much better food by far.

Ate at Doug's last night. Had the Grouper basket and onion rings. The onion rings are awesome. The Grouper, not so much. It was too greasy, and lacked flavor. There is much better fried Grouper around. The place was clean and the service was good. The food came out piping hot. I have a feeling that there are better choices to make in coming here.

I usually eat here a few times during the spring season. I have been a fan of their lobster rolls for years. Staff is friendly, but I feel like prices have skyrocketed with $36.90 for a large lobster roll while cleanliness/quality seem to have declined. When comparing $40+ per person lunch options it will be hard to justify revisiting Doug’s when there are other lobster roll options that provide table side service.

As long as you go in expecting a strip mall seafood place, you won't be disappointed. In my experience the hole-in-the-wall local places have the best food regardless of cuisine, but most often with seafood. We stopped in for a light meal, and just shared a small lobster roll and fries between the two of us. WOW. Huge pieces of lobster. Absolutely delicious. Fries were cooked perfectly also and would by themselves merit a stop. We got some takeout lobster bisque for family which was also really tasty. The place itself was pretty.....dirty and no frills; you order food, get assigned a table in a cubicle, and the food is delivered. Totally ok with that. The food can't be beat. I can't wait to explore other menu options.

Had the lobster roles, excellent. The clam chowder, excellent, and the blackened halibut, which was also excellent. You have to order at the cashier and then wait from them to bring to your table. My only issue was with the cashier not clearly explaining what each order contained. Also the ambience left a little to be desired. However, it probably helps keep the costs down. Will definitely go again.

Visited yesterday evening 2/18/22. Arrived at 7:37. Waited in line for about 5 minutes. When approached at counter to give my order I was asked is this for here or take out. I answered for here. Was told abruptly and rudely that I can only get take out since we close at 8:00. The sign on the door and website said open until 8:00. I drove 25 minutes to get there and said, do you expect me to drive all the way back home to eat my dinner? I will not eat dinner in my car. Was very rudely answered, "That's up to you". I guess it is up to me and I left. Just wonder what else is wrong in this place. Future patrons beware!
