I have been going to Nick's for about 4 times a year for the last 4 years while i visit my daughter at FAU. I am from DC and use to great service. I have seen many bartenders come abs go BUT this time I have had the pleasure of being served by Marissa! Let me tell you.... it is because of her that i have come back each night while i am here visiting. Her service, her welcoming spirit, and her drinks are off the charts!!! She is a keeper and an asset to Nicks! If you are in Boca, stop by... EVERYTHING IS ON POINT!
The place was empty and it was lunch time. That should have been enough of a warning but we ventured in hoping!I ordered carbonara and my friend ordered a small pizza. My pasta was overcooked, the pancetta was NOT the real deal and if it was, shame on them. It was raw and fatty. Service was with a smile but it took a while to be served. Pizza was good.Used to be a great place to eat. Not sure what happened. Most likely we won't be back.
Sadly the atmosphere tonight is a strong zero. Food is a 4.I have lived north of Glades for 7 years, so I've been here many times. Tonight, Mothers Day, I awaited our take-out around 6:30 at the bar and I had the unfortunate experience of witnessing drunk "Robert" bad behavior at the outside bar. His friend was obviously embarrassed but the bartender dismissed Roberts obnoxious behavior. She went on to tell me he's really nice (even though he was very aggressive) and he owned a profitable business; like this is an excuse for me to not be uncomfortable in his drunk condition. More concerning is the bartender obviously over served him. This establishment is a family restaurant. One that fits in with the neighborhood. It is not one that invites a rowdy crowd or obvious drunks. Thankfully my husband was not far away to join me in waiting for our take out. The final straw was my glass of wine was $6.42 (I may be off a couple pennies). In giving me my change, the bartender omitted the $.50 and rounded up to benefit herself.I've worked this business for many years. Tonight's experience was a lesson of what not to do to succeed.
Nice waitress but overworked. Pizza had 3rd degree burns. Severe. No taste, like cardboard. I would rather eat Army chow. Drinks were overpriced. $93 for one large scorched pizza, one salad, 2 drinks incl tip. Food came on the table 2 hours after we arrived, and we had no time to send it back. Never again. Ever. I rarely post reviews, but this one deserves to be known.
Overcharged for drink , food took forever and when it finally came there was hair in our food, which we noticed before the server ever left the table. When we showed them they asked if we wanted to eat the other half of the pizza?? Why would we want to eat pizza with hair? The proper response would have been I apologize, let me get you a fresh pie right away. Nope! Sent food back said it would be 15-20 minutes for a fresh pizza that was at 9:26 and we had a pizza by 9:34. Clearly they just heated up the pie we returned and didn’t make us a new one. Waitress barely came by the table. Not worth the wait or the $$$$.
What a great spot. I had the pleasure of being served by Maria. She made our experience unforgettable. Great pizza great drinks and amazing service!
Another favorite of mine in Boca Raton. Being originally from the Midwest people always rave of how Florida’s pizza doesn’t stand up to New York, New Haven or Chicago etc. Nicks has unlocked the code with their New Haven Brick oven pizza that’s out of this world. The crust is equally as amazing as the ingredients (and they’re abundant). Their entrees and appetizers are a must have. My favorite appetizers are the risotto balls and the Parmesan crusted chicken wings. As far as entrees go, they’re a full plate so expect to eat a lot or take some home. I always order the chicken francese and add capers. Their chicken Parmesan could happily feed a family. They have a bar that’s open to the outdoors which I always love to find in Florida.Enjoy their ceiling plastered with retro ads from the last century.
Hands down, one of the best pizza's I've ever had. We were a group and ordered 4 extra large and shared them - Eggplant, Bacon, white pizza with sausage and onions and a Margarita. The sauce was very flavorful and the crust was out of this world because they're cooked in coal ovens! If you're in Boca Raton, you need to stop there for the pizza!
My family and I went to this restaurant on January 15th, 2022. We hopped that we would have good food and a good time, but it was definitely not the case. The server was condescending, rude, and had no business being in the hospitality industry. There were no paper menus, I understand with COVID-19 things have become somewhat different, but most restaurants have paper menus upon request, especially when the QR Code did not work properly. The server brought the wrong food, did not follow up, we had to go get our own condiments, a booster seat for the baby that was in our party (they only had two booster chairs and both were occupied, one by a customer's purse). When we informed her that she had brought the wrong food the server gave us attitude and walked away. On top of this when we asked to speak to a manager, we were told that there was none. No wonder this place is the way it is. The o ly good thing about this place was the food, it was flavorful. I may come back to this place for take out, but never again ti dine in. I am still upset about the awfultime we had, so I called today (1/24/2022) to speak to a manager an was told once again that there was no manager present and when i asked who was the person in charge, i was told it was the chef, but he was not in either. I really hope the owner reads this review and does something about the service at this place.I almost forgot, another party came right after us and left because of the bad service.
My name is Nick and I'm from New Haven, so frankly I am an expert in this field. This place rocks! Thank you, owners of this restaurant -- whoever you may be -- for SAVING the citizens of Florida from the Oliver Twist-esque gruel that usually passes as pizza around here. We all miss Pepe's. And Sally's. And Modern. But not anymore! This is such a fine recreation that I honestly feel it would fit right in as one of New Haven's top places. The Foxon Park soda is such a nice touch as well (white birch FTW). You've made pizza great again. Hats off to you.
