I have been driving past Fran’s for years until today. I can tell you that I wished I would have tried it sooner. The place is humbly staggered just a stone throw from a popular breakfast place but the service and food was exceptional beyond expectations. The gentleman at the counter was soft spoken and polite. He clearly let us know it would be just 10 mins for the order once we placed it. We walked around and came back to pay and pick up our order. Buffalo chicken sandwich (subbed tenders instead of the normal) with sauce on the side. My wife got the mashed potato bowl and quickly noticed the mashed potato’s were made from scratch. The attention to their craft showed in the meal. We will definitely be recommending and coming back. It’s local small business like this that are staples which call back to better time when food was made from scratch and made to order with care and skills.
Wow, not much else to say! It’s the real deal!!Great food and personable service. Lots of FRESH food , crowded at 330pm on a weekday, which is nice to see. Will most definitely be coming back!!
Wanted some fried chicken and this came recommended. Easy to find on Federal and a 15 minute wait. Had 8 pieces bucket which was a whole chicken. Also had a half pint of fried chicken livers and fries. they threw in two tubs of Frans sauce which is sweet and tangy Very tasty chicken and worth it but $35 is a bit steep. Would go back again.
Moved here 2 years ago & been passing this place for 2 years wondering if it was good , OMG went there finally tonight and it is the best chicken I have had ANYWHERE. Not just little breasts coated with something but plump delicious & a coating that cannot be duplicated . Mashed potatoes were REAL lumpy & amazing along with the gravy .The chef who took our order was so pleasant & friendly even though it was so busy.I will be coming back weekly for sure for take out , what a true gem of a place cannot wait to try other things too . Oh beans were great too !
During this difficult pandemic I would never bash a small business for adjusted hours and being short staffed.I would like to say the food here was fresh and delicious. We ordered take out for a party of 10 and the portions were generous and all were pleased. Highly recommend! Let's support small businesses!!!
So good I had to get it twice in one day!!After driving by many times I decided to stop in and give it a try. The Best decision I made and so sad it took me so long to discover that the best chicken I've had so far was down the street this whole time.My first order during lunch was the 3 pieces dark with fries and a chicken sandwich. My second trip that same day for dinner was 2 chicken sandwiches. The flavor of the chicken is a 10 but the chicken sandwich with whatever sauce is one there is out of this world. If you are looking for good chicken this is your spot.
I came in here two times before and left because I thought it was too expensive and honestly was too broke so I went to Publix to get a cheap sandwich. Today, I came in knowing I had to try it and I'm glad I did. Worth every penny. And really not all that expensive when you get the thigh and legs like I did. Best fried chicken I've ever had and the Fran's sauce was delectable for both chicken and fries. I assure everybody who encounters this place, it is a must try.
I rated them a five for a bit of an odd reason. First, current reviews. Second, I lived just around the corner from them 1967-1989. Then it was absolutely (actually still is) the best chicken I have ever had anywhere in the US. I took my wife to Boca for our first anniversary for two reasons. First and foremost was to get Fran's chicken. Then to go to Brooks restaurant. We pulled into the parking lot of Fran's and the place was boarded up. (In August 2000) I was extremely disappointed. My first meal from Fran's was in 1967 and to this day I talk about how good the chicken was. IS. I truly hope it is the same and still open. I will definitely plan another weekend just to get their chicken, very soon.
The absolute best fried chicken I’ve ever had! I’m very picky about food and often get a cough after eating fried food as a reaction to ingredients or grease but not at Fran’s. This chicken is delicious, crispy and not greasy. Seriously addictive. Worth the wait and every penny. I’m just sad I didn’t find this place sooner.
fried livers was fire ... not salty no caked up batter , strait fire. reminded me of the gas station jaints back home in richmond ... but better!
