We got 3course menu. I enjoyed my shrimp and apple crumble. Tarragon chicken was dry and I thought it would be on bone. I ate a couple of pieces and took rest home. My boyfriend had onion soup which was very good and salmon which was good. We both liked the bread which was very crusty and good.
Great French food. Special menu with choice of appetizer, entree and dessert is a fantastic value.
Wonderful evening-- Marie and her husband are lovely and so welcoming. The food was delicious and felt like we were in Paris. Best onion soup we have ever had. Duck, lamb rack and chicken were perfect and so good!! We can't wait to go back.
Lovely food & service! Canât wait to dine here again
Tasty French food! The three course menu was delish and a good value to boot. The space is charming and the service was friendly. The tarragon chicken melted in my mouth and the chocolate mousse will keep me coming back!
I love this cozy restaurant but have never before visited on a special event day (Bastille Day). It was crowded with very large groups who were quite enthusiastic. There was also musical entertainment. All of it was too loud for my tastes, making conversation difficult. The kitchen was way behind on orders due to the groups, and our little table for three seemed forgotten. The server kept checking on our order and apologizing. The special menu had three choices for a prix fixe meal. Still, it took more than two hours to get our meals. The food here is quite good, and I am very fond of the lavender crème brûlée. A normal evening meal is a better choice for me.
Our entire party ordered the prix-fixe dinner and we each found it superb. The pats was rich and delicious, as was the onion soup. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the glaze was light and flavorful. The tarragon chicken in white wine sauce was fit for royalty. The desserts lived up to the rest of the meal. Weâll be back.
Excellent food service
Our visit to Chez Marie was not a good one. I had been there before but not my 2 friends. It was a special event, but the music was way too loud, it's a small restaurant. The escargot app was great, the ceaser salad dressing was not home made. The mussells were small, and my friend's came out raw, the salmon also came out raw and had to be sent back. The mouse and creme desserts were okay, the apple crumble was very tarte, not very good. I have been here before and eaten from the regular menu, but this was an embarrassment for me. My friends will certainly never return, since the food was not good and the noise level was ridiculously loud.
I’m sorry to have to share this negative experience, but I was a victim of credit card fraud by this establishment. The server altered the tip amount after I signed it. I keep good records, so I knew as soon as I received my statement that the charge was higher. I assumed it was an honest mistake, and called the restaurant and spoke with the owner Marie. It was NOT an honest mistake: the owner tried to avoid providing me with a copy of the signed credit card strip. When I finally did see it, it was obvious that it had been altered. That the server committed fraud is bad enough. What’s worse is that the owner justified it, saying “well, your tip was low”.The tip was low because of terrible service. The owner appears to condone theft from a customer. YOU decide if this place deserves your business. It’s disgusting.
