Vietnamese food is one of my favorite cuisines. I could eat a banh mi every day. So completely satisfying. I researched Cafe Lavie when I was down visiting my dad in Boca Raton. This place is a MUST! Fantastic food with incredibly nice owners! From the bread to the vegetables to the perfectly juicy grilled pork. PERFECTION! I also tried a small bowl of pho. And that was also just terrific. I read some of the other reviews and some had issues with slow service. Whatever. Great food takes extra time to prepare and this place should not be missed. You can tell that they put a lot of effort into their food. The pho broth was so flavorful. Nice and relaxed decor inside. I'd be here all the time if I lived in Boca. Best banh mi I have ever had and I have had LOTS of them. Do yourself a favor and try this place. You will be hooked. Can't wait to go back.
This is one of the few restaurants of this cuisine in Boca Raton. As a self proclaimed pho lover and connoisseur, I find myself having to try a bowl whenever and whenever I can. With that being said, it’s probably blasphemous that I’m eating this bowl with zucchini noodles, but I wasn’t in the mood for all the carbs this evening. Not to mention, I find it a more rare and pleasant offering. The combo bowl consists of varied meats including a piece of oxtail, albeit very small. The broth, which of course is most important, was just too salty. It did have a nice beef flavor, but not as aromatic as I like and the overpowering saltiness just took over the dish for me. The beef itself was above average and mostly tender. I would have like a bit more ot a serving at almost $20 for the bowl. Overall a nice visit, with a possible return to try their bahn mi.
Cafe LaVie makes, hands-down, the best Pho in South Florida. The staff are very friendly. The restaurant is decorated nicely and plays sweet music.Their Banh Mi sandwiches and Vietnamese Cream Coffee are also delicious.Their vegan options also make it friendly for lunch with coworkers. This is where I tell everyone to go for pho.
Horrible!!! When we first were seated and our waitress finally came she didn’t even bother greeting us. She goes, when you’re ready let me know, and walks away. 10 min later she comes and takes our order. We ordered an appetizer and 2 phos. We got our spring rolls and then sat there for over 30 min waiting for our pho. Finally we waved her down and asked, how much longer? She literally goes, OMG! Runs to the register and starts putting the order in, then runs to the kitchen. We looked at each other and got up. We told her to cancel the pho and get us our check. When she got us the check she blamed the kitchen, she said she put the order but they “missed it”. Maybe she’s telling the truth but either way, not only did they not discount our appetizer or drinks for the inconvenience caused by their mistake, they had the audacity to charge us an extra dollar for two small pieces of lime that we wanted for the pho that we never got. No wonder the place was empty. Steer clear and stay away!
I love their fried rice, spring rolls and egg rolls..fried rice was not over seasoned with soy sauce but a nice perfect amount of flavor, wish they used fresh veggies instead of some peas and carrots mix thing from canned or frozen? Peanut sauce for spring rolls was good, also good egg rolls with a good dipping sauce. I originally ordered a lotus salad but they did not have it and they didn't tell us until we had already placed an order and left to pick them up. They made my taro smoothie too early and it melted too much when I got home. I appreciate vegan options. I'll go back and try pho when I get a chance!
We lived in Asia for 6 years, and I can only say this place is a MUST to try authentic flavor. We ordered this time the Pho, Vietnamese sandwich and poke bowl. Excellent, will be back again. Highly recommended
This place is phenomenal and because of the Publix construction in the plaza, we almost missed it. But, because it is separated from the construction area, the outside is actually a lovely place to have your meal--there's a little courtyard that's been created and it feels like a quiet oasis. The pho is THE BEST we've had in South Florida (and I had a Vietnamese roommate for 3 years, so she taught me how to be picky about pho!). The summer rolls were very good too. Everything was fresh and the owners clearly take a lot of pride in their venture. Come support a new, locally-owned, excellent restaurant!
I loved this place. It is a little more costly than other Vietnamese restaurants in the area but still not an expensive meal. They offer excellent fresh Vietnamese food. I had the combo pho with zucchini noodles rather than the usual noodles. It was delicious. They also offer pho with vegetables rather than beef.
We visited for the first time this evening. We ordered chicken wings and cold rolls as appetizers and both were very good. We ordered a beef pho and vegetable pho, both with beef broth. The portions are very large and the taste was excellent. The staff were extremely pleasant and efficient. Everything came hot and was clearly prepared to order. Very convenient location and plenty of outdoor dining.
Limited menu but the food was good. I liked the egg rolls here compared with other nearby places. overall the menu is more expensive than nearby Vietnamese restaurants but the portion is decent. The lady in the front was very helpful.Found a plastic in the sauce container and ruined the experience. The vermicelli noodle bowl didn’t come with enough sauce.
