Great staff. Terrible bar seats, they snag your clothes and leave physical marks on your skin. It's like being assaulted for eating there. The recent menu revamp is clearly based on data and awful. It basically reads and tastes like something put together by something that doesn't eat. The chef is really good, when he's allowed to do his thing. The Management is really fantastic, bar and waitstaff is also exceptional. It's so sad that every inch corporate is allowed to touch, i.e. the menu or decor, they ruin. The new burger is the best on market street, but the Cajun Cobb was ruined by chicken that plates and tastes like catfood and replacing what was good bacon with bacon lardon that just tastes cheap.
So cool spot my daughter and I stumbled on to. Bartender did all the table service and she did a good job. We ordered ribs and fries and Wilma's Mac and cheese. The ribs were delicious. The "Mac and cheese" was more of pasta dish than Mac and cheese. It was good just looked different than the previous posted pictures and seemed misleading in name. I also ordered a dirty Martini. I was ok just too dirty and a little weak. My daughter was super excited about them having bowling in the restaurant but it was $30 for an hour and I wasn't spending that for a quick lunch. I would actually recommend it for a date super cool vibes.
Really enjoyed my night out here with a group of friends. Everyone working was super friendly and nice, although we did have to ask after our food a couple times as it took awhile for some stuff to come out. The miniature bowling was fun, although one of our lanes was a bit messed up so the balls kept getting stuck even when we tried bowling slower! But it was no problem as we just asked an employee to help us and they were very nice about it. The food was really good - especially the mac and cheese and the beignets. We had the cajun charcuterie board as well and it was definitely unique, some of the meat tasted a bit soapy but we ended up eating pretty much everything! The drinks (esp frozen hurricane) were also super tasty!
I enjoyed everything. I ordered from the sides menu. While the food was good and well cooked, it could use some salt in every dish. It's a bit pricey but respectable if conservative. Wish manager didn't work (on laptop) on the dining floor, during service. Kinda off putting while having a nice meal. (cheapens it) :(
My boyfriend and I came here for our 6th month anniversary. Not only was it an hour and 20 minute wait for our food to come out, but my boyfriend got the half chicken meal ($28)—which was bloody, raw, and slimy when he cut into it. When we asked for it to be taken back to be cooked more, the manager brought it back out about 3 minutes later with nothing done to it, not even the utensils were touched. The chicken, which my boyfriend had cut in literally 4 different spots, wasn’t cooked, not even warm. The blood was still wet on the side of the chicken. The alcoholic drinks were extremely watered down, but the real disappointment came from how the manager didn’t even fix my boyfriends meal. They approached the issue so nonchalantly and carelessly. It’s not like this was a steak that was undercooked and bloody— this is literally chicken that could make someone extremely sick. We traveled from South Jersey just to come here, and were so disappointed.
The venue is beautiful! Hostess was very pleasant. The bowling alley up front is cute! Our waitress was sweet. I had a mimosa and shrimp & grits without the andouille. My food actually tasted better when I got home and reheated it; I feel like my food could’ve been served a little warmer. Overall my experience was good.Took the bread pudding home for dessert and it was tasty!
This place has potential, but at the current moment, there are just so many options in DE and Wilma's would not be a top pick. The best part of my experience was that the staff was really accommodating and kind. It was blatantly obvious that they were understaffed, and the Sunday brunch crew began to come in, it became overwhelming. I got the Standard Breakfast, and there was barely any egg on the plate and the sausage was okay, nothing I need to have again. The potatoes were very tasty though. We also tried the corn bread and beignets. Again, nothing I need again. Which is sad, because there are not many New Orleans themed menus or restaurants here. This just missed the mark. The duck pin bowling was really fun though! We tried a specialty drink while bowling (the ordering process there was high tech and efficient) but honestly the drink was awful: sour and confusing... The décor is very instagramable which was nice. But honestly, I think once things cool down with the pandemic this was place could really be amazing. Just not at the present moment.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and preparation of the food. The first time for brunch, I ordered the crab/eggs hollandaise, which was delicious. The second time for brunch, i ordered shrimp and grits and was blown away! The grits are amazing and the combination was just delicious. I am ruined for any other rendition of shrimp and grits. I can only surmise that the rest of the food on the menu is as good as what I have tried already. Service is good and ambiance is not lacking.
Came here on Friday night with 5 other people. It was easy to make reservations, we were sat quickly, and our waitress was amazing and accommodating for all of us. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun too. The drinks are delicious and I can’t recommend the alligator sliders enough. Definitely worth a try!
Nice spot for drinks in Wilmington. The atmosphere was bright and had nice decor. The drinks are good. We tried the bbq shrimp ( they still have the heads on them ), it was over cooked which made the mushy. The seafood tower had a variety of options. Our table also offered the po boy and roasted chicken and it was good. They have a variety of desserts. We had the beignets, bread pudding and banana pudding. The wait staff was nice and they will validate your parking. The parking lot is down the road and around the corner.
