I'm familiar with Tasties because I'm from Philly!! The platters are expensive but good !! I only gave them 3 stars because they had no air on in a 102 degree heat wave!!! I felt this was unacceptable not only for the customers but employees as well !!! The Philly store has Air !! The cook is frying food, so this increases the heat index inside the store!!!!! Please get your employees Air and it allows comfort for customers whole we wait for our food !!!Also Cameron provided great customers service with a smile considering how HOT the store was !!!Parking: Poor parking
Once again I was extremely disappointed I tried to chalk it up to a bad day but the last 3 times that I have gotten her food I have been disappointed so it's no reason I thought this time should have been any different $21 on a platter is to much when the food IS NOT good. Fish was dry and had fishy smell like it was old they cook fish and chicken in the same grease the mac was dry sweet potatoes was probably all I should have gotten but i was trying to support.
This review is not based the food..we didn't get that far...As we are parking directly in front of the restaurant unbeknownst to us, the male sitting at a table smoking was the employee. We get out the vehicle, he walks in and goes behind the counter. I stand at the counter and he comes up. Not asking to take my order or May I help you.. I'm watching closely to see if he going to wash his hands..NOPE.. so I'm am now thinking yeah NO I can't eat here but then I am thinking of our gracious host who had good things about the place...Ok..just wait and see, after all he has not touch any food yet...maybe he will after he takes our order. I sit at the table still watching..go back to the counter and ask "Is this primarily take out ?" since he hadn't greeted us or come to get out order or bring water. Although I would know that had he said anything to us...then it happened..he grabbed an order and never washed his hands....Since I already knew he didn't it makes a difference
Love the food. Just a little disappointed with the broccoli a few times I found bugs in my food. I am not sure if they are washing the fresh vegetables or what! If this changes I will give all 5 stars.
First time eating at this Restaurant, Ordered the Wings and Chicken Fingers Combo. I’ve been sick every since Eating a couple of the wings for lunch and it’s now 5am the next morning. I could not finish the meal, food was not seasoned and tasted nasty. Menu shows $13.00 but they charged me $17.00 and stated that the price changed.
The last time I ate from here was in 2020, the food was very disappointing and I never ate from here again after that experience. But recently my friend came to visit from Philly and she brought a Whiting platter and baby everything tasted delicious! I was in shock! Tasties in west Philly was alway A1 and I was super shocked it wasn’t in Wilmington. I went to order my own platter and I got the lemon pepper wings, Mac and greens. Again I was shocked because this food was so good it tasted like I was a different restaurant! It’s very evident that the owner listened to the customer feed back and that’s so important!! I recently tried the salmon and it was dry but I’ll let them know next time not to broil for too long. Service is great as well! I will definitely be ordering again!
Really a 2.5 stars rating. Got the salmon and shrimp alfredo and was highly disappointed due to how overcooked both my salmon and shrimp were. My husband ordered the fried whitening , mac & cheese and yams and was even more disappointed than I was, he said the fish had entirely too much breading on it and the mac was so/so. For what we paid and the reputation tasties has the food should not have been that underwhelming.
Never again! Greens taste like salt & the Mac and cheese is dry. Salmon was okay. Maybe I order the wrong thing. But, I would not spend money here again.
I ordered BBQ Chicken, Collard Greens and BBQ Chicken. The BBQ Sauce taste like ketchup, hot sauce and sugar, had to add Sweet Baby Rays. The collards had no type of flavor with turkey neck or anything, just taste like salt and hot sauce was on it and the mac & chees was ok-ish.Everything was edible but not really tasty. I didn't want to feel like I wasted my money. My co-worker had the Thai Wings and she loved them.I can at least say I've tried it. But I will not be eating here again.
Great spot! NO PORK! I got the turkey wing plate with greens and Mac and cheese. They didn’t skimp on the portions! The turkey wings were perfectly seasoned. Very tender! The greens were some of the best I’ve had. Most soul food restaurants use pork. This place uses turkey butts. The mac and cheese was good too. The price was a bit high, but the quality made it well worth it. I’d definitely recommend this place!
