We have been here a few times, and the food has been good, and at times, excellent. The problem is that we don't live close by and want to place a takeout order. Yet we call, and are never able to get through. So we have to go in person and wait 30 minutes (or more), while the food is prepared. The last time we went, the person working the register and taking orders was on the phone for a personal call. She was talking the entire time I was waiting for my order. It was clear she really wasn't interested in the business. Since then, we haven't been back. It's a shame because we liked the food - but we value our time as well.
Food and owners are wonderful, but you can’t help but notice the air filter that’s covered in years of dust, right when you enter, that kind of makes you pause as to cleanliness.A little tidiness goes along way!

New in town and this was my first actual Thai joint as I was in Savannah Ga and that was not even close to good If you stop here. Get ready as the mom of the house will make you a meal as if you were her family table guest I travel and always do Thai What a stop this Mom can cook Ordered 2 heat and I love HOT but this was a fabulous genuinely beyond good I’ll not Linder make my own Thai and just talk to Momat Bangkok Gatta go joint don’t miss out
Bangkok House is a staple in Wilmington. They have been around forever and they NEVER disappoint. Everything is made fresh to order. Family owned and operated plus they are always pleasant and accommodating. The young lady who takes my order is like a breath of fresh air. It’s rare to get such good customer service now a days, and I work in the field. My only complaint is that they are closed on Monday! Remember to leave a couple bucks tip for take out and 20% minimum for dine in. They are truly a gem.
I have tried the food at Bankok House. I loved the food, atmosphere and the conversation with the employees. The owner of this restaurant is very friendly and patient. I will be going back again, to try other traditional Thai dishes. #121 on the menu is my next choice. The owner of Bankok House, told me about it. ???? You have to try their food! It's my favorite restaurant in the area. The many awards on the wall of the restaurant aren't there for nothing. I assure you.
