The lobster rolls are THE BEST I’ve ever had !!!
1st time I've ever had a lobster roll and it was amazing. Soft lobster and a buttery toasted roll. Well worth the price!
Ordered takeout from here and this is what I recieved: I'm being critical due to the price being significantly more expensive than local sandwich/lunch chains.Lobster roll tasted good; roll was buttered nicely....overall was underwhelming in my opinion from all the word-of-mouth hype surrounding it. The roll itself was very small in comparison to local businesses that charge 1/4 the price for a sandwich at double the size. The big difference being the lobster but at the suspected $15~ difference to cover a 5" sandwich worth of filling, it seems to fall a bit short to me in value personally. The Mac and cheese was burned on the outside as the picture shows; the middle that was edible was decent though. The fries were meh; seasoning was heavy on the top and none on the bottom; guessing I was supposed to shake the bag to even it out. Fries themselves were crunchy to where It seems like they were cooked a bit too long.Would've given the place 4 stars if the Mac n cheese & fries were not overcooked to a crisp. I just figured for over 30 bucks it'd be a bit better
The location was understaffed and out of a substantial amount of menu items. The $8 bowl of lobster bisque had no lobster in it. I ended up tossing in some of my lobster off my roll to get the experience of enjoying the bisque with lobster. I was unable to try several items that interested me do to them being unavailable. Also could use a little cleaning around the store.
These are the best lobster rolls I ever tasted! Worth every penny of the $20 each. Fresh lobster, toasted roll, perfect seasoning and friendly staff. You must try one if you like lobster!
This is great for a quick bite and the meal deals are great, as well. Had the chowder and Connecticut-style roll. The roll was toasted and the lobster was delicious and buttered. Yum! Served with a pickle and a Maine root sasparilla.
Authentic split-top rolls & fresh lobster meat -- closest to a New England seafood shack you'll find. Super quick and gracious service. Love that this is a woman-owned business -- a long-term employee took over from a gentleman who owns several Mason's (including nearby Annapolis). Glad she's remaining open in the off-season as this is truly a great place for a special lobsta' roll. I got the Connecticut style Bar Harbor roll -- perfect balance of tail & claw meat, and drawn butter nestled into the roll.
Paid $26 for their "Bar Harbor" classic a lobster roll that is supposed to have 50% more lobster meat than their standard rolls. The wife got the $20 classic I got ripped off the lobster rolls were identical. Both had the ezcat same amount of lobster on them. Also bought a $8 bowl of lobster bisque that had ZERO lobster in it. I can only assume this is done to "take out" orders since I didn't find this out until back at the hotel. Bottom line the lobster roll I was served looked nothing like the overstuffed lobster roll overflowing with meat in the advertisement pictures. Won't be back...
Ok, so I used to live on the coast of Maine so my bar is set high. Mason’s doesn’t make my bar. I had their basic lobster roll, which was not large but had ample meat. The meat was icy cold with one large chunk partially frozen. In addition, the mayonnaise mixture was virtually nonexistent. Did not pass muster! $20 bucks a pop! However, my wife had their Lobster Mac and Cheese, which was great, with plenty of meat, zesty cheese and ample portion for only $15 bucks. We might go back but not for the lobster roll.
I don’t know about you but how can a place that sells lobster rolls get only four stars you ask? Serve cheap, frozen french fries as a side.
