It’s SO hard to find a good Gluten Free pizza….until now! Grotto’s GF pie is the best one I have EVER had, and I’ve tried a LOT. It was so good, I wouldn’t have even known it was GF. They weren’t stingy with the cheese, sauce, and pepperoni either. I got take out, it was ready in around 15 minutes. Super friendly staff & a nice clean atmosphere. I work a block away, so you’ll be seeing me an awful lot. ? ?
Heard this was one of the best pizza places around and I really don't appreciate being lied to like that. I would have been better off with frozen pizza.Service wasn't good. Our server never checked on us. The spaghetti and meatballs I got for my son only had half a meatball and some jarred sauce. I brought up the issue and when I thought they had remedied the situation by giving me another meatball, they had actually charged me for it.Their only saving grace were the sweet garlic soy sauce wings. Those were pretty good. Still not going back.
Pizza Night!!I have always been a Nicola Pizza boy. (for like 30+ years) But, over the last few years, I have given Grotto another go, and they are really improved. I believe the last time I ate in this location (or maybe it was the boardwalk location) I called it the "Carnival Cruise Line of pizza joints". Well, I take that back now.We had a short wait outside and then were shown to our table on the deck. The server was very prompt. Our orders came relatively quickly for a semi-busy night (we did have to wait for a table after all). They did make a mistake on our daughter's junior pizza (wrong toppings) they let us keep it and got another one out to her very quickly... She had fries too, so she didn't starve while waiting. The whole affair was quite nice and we all enjoyed our food, and had very full bellies.
Friendly staff and great pizza!
We have had Grottos before when in the area and find it to be typical beach pizza with a certain nostalgia. Not the worst but not the best. It was a little chilly so we ate inside and I was surprised at how much black mold was on the ceiling throughout the restaurant. Hopefully this is something they will take care of soon. I would still possibly grab a slice for the beach but wouldn’t eat inside again.
I come here with my kiddos, regularly, and have found the service sporadic. Food is great! But, can't say the same for the service. Maybe it was due to staff shortage (I understand, I've worked the industry), but this evening, I could've walked out without paying my bill! The hostess sat us, the waitress greeted us, and she never visited us again. Our order was taken by a gentleman in a white polo (manager?) Then our appetizers were brought out by someone of the cook staff, our pizza by another cook staff a short while later. No one came by at all during our meal. No staff looked our way. We needed refills of our drinks and had to wave down the hostess. She so kindly gave us to-go cups for our refills and a box for or leftover pizza. I waited a little bit for someone to bring me the tab. No one came. Think they thought we were taken care of? Ended up paying my tab with the gentleman bussing tables and tipped him. I still left a tip on the tab, but cringe because the server who got did not earn it.
Service was Awful!!! Our waitress was terrible. Took 45 minutes to get 2 pizzas & the place was empty! Told the manager & he didn’t care. Really expensive for fast food pizza & horrible customer service.
Grottos has been a tradition for pizza each beach vacation for 25 years. The food and service are always amazing. Great for families!
I paid with a gift card and it got over charged by seven dollars more than was on my receipt. Someone gave themself an extra tip. So keep track of your charges there if you pay with anything other than cash. Some one there is a thief. Oh, and I brought it to the attention of an employee and the individual sighed and rolled their eyes instead of offering to get a manager or something. It's only seven dollars so whatever. But I won't be back. It's a shame 'cause I like their pizza. I gave one star because zero is not an option.
Visiting Rehoboth, we decided to stop by and get a pizza. Walked in and wasn’t greeted. Stood there for about a minute and still wasn’t greeted. Two employees were talking in the kitchen and on top of that, an employee was scratching his beard in the kitchen. I mean, digging at it. We left
