Super nasty. Flies everywhere. I mean it everywhere. I had to take my daughter to the bathroom and it was a black out of flies. We sat down at 6:30 we got our cheese pizza at 7:30. I hour waiting for a cheese pizza. There was a dirty plunger just sitting out with the tables. How can this location be so disgusting. Corporate needs to do a surprise inspection.
First, as a die hard Grotto pizza fan and one who grew up at Harvey’s Lake I practically live at the original restaurant. However, yesterday was one of those Sundays where it was the first sunny and warm day with a packed parking lot! That means lousy service, anymore post Covid. First, there were no available booths and had to wait 15 minutes for them to clean one. Sat down knew exactly what I was going to order, two chopped salads and an order of their famous wings with mild sauce and celery. The young took our order, brought drinks and disappeared for about 25 minutes. However he said the wings are in the oven. When I ordered the wings I told him we’d like those first. He can disappeared for about another 20 minutes. I found out later he was over at several other tables at the opposite end of the restaurant serving a group of motorcyclists. We had to heal a waitress that we have known for probably 10 years for her to get our waiter. Instead she asked us what we ordered and brought our wings and salads to the table. The wings were sitting at the kitchen and were lukewarm and hard. The salads didn’t have a large container of dressing they had a small one for the appetizer salad. No breadsticks. Then by that time we needed a refill on our ice teas with lemon. The older waitress brought that over to us and we thanked her and said it was not her table where is our waiter? Our waiter kept running back-and-forth but it kept ignoring us. He was serving the bikers over on the other end of the restaurant. Time now 1 1/2 hours. Then he came over and asked us how the wings were. When I told him they came late and we’re cold he said it’s not my fault there’s a back up in the kitchen. I asked him for our check. He disappeared for another 20 minutes so now we’re there for 2 1/2 hours. We gave him a very small tip but tipped our older waitress friend a large amount for her help. Whenever you see the parking lot filled -pass this place by! Nowadays they get lousy staff that last maybe once or twice and disappear. This is happened before and we are regulars. Grotto has great pizza and decent food and is my favorite local restaurant. But there’s no such excuse for crappy slow service. This place is slipping badly as It is the place for everyone in the Wyoming Valley to go to at beautiful Harvey’s Lake . But not a place to visit on a weekend when it’s very, very busy because service really sucks!
I have had way better pizza. Service was good.
I will say this is by far the best pizza place. I'm from MD and I just love the taste of their pizza and their signature cheese. Service was good too.
Great experience, only stopped in for apps and drinks. Had a great time great drinks great food awesome menu!
I love their white pizza! Can't find it anywhere like that besides Grottos. Our server was exceptional and pizza was fast!
When my wife and I arrived at the establishment, the hostess was oblivious to our presence. We requested a booth, she brings us to a dirty one. We ask for it to be cleaned by the manager and we were seated. Oh it gets better! Once seated, our "waitress" brings us plates and a knife, no forks. Apparently they were still in the dishwasher still drying. We had to suggest to her that she brings us plastic forks instead. Then the metal forks magically appeared! We place our order, a large cheese pizza. Simple right? Nope. We took one bite and called the manager over and said "we aren't paying for this,it taste like "English muffin pizza". So she told us "there won't be any charge, you can go". We leave to go to Nicola Pizza. The waitress chases us down and accuses us of dining and dashing! A "Karen" customer does the same and so did another employee there. He got directly in my wife's face about it, but then walked away after we threatened to call the cops for harassment! This is the Grotto's on the boardwalk right next to the Candy Kitchen. So,in conclusion. Lousy pizza, horrible communication, unprofessional actions from the staff and we will NEVER go back to Rehobeth!
Pizza and ice cold drinks were great and our server was fantastic!
Our favorite beach pizza of all time. The pepperoni pizza is a huge hit with our kids. The service is always splendid
The food was pretty decent but not great, especially for the price of their pizza. They still think they’re the only pizza joint around.I give this location 1 star due to unsanitary conditions and managements lack of caring. When we ordered pizza a few weeks ago on the boardwalk, the people making the pizzas were clearly visible from the boardwalk. The guy putting toppings on the pizza wasn’t wearing gloves. I thought okay maybe he washed his hands and all he does is assemble pizzas. I was wrong… in between pizzas, he used his bare hands to fool around on his cell phone. The same bare hands used to make everyone’s pizzas.Oh and we are still in a pandemic? A lot of people take their phones to the bathroom with them, and everywhere else they go. We’ve all heard about how dirty a phone can actually be.I was relieved that the guy making the dough was wearing gloves. But wait… Mr Bare Hands On His Phone hands his cell phone to the dough man with the gloves still on. Now they’re both contaminated. Also they were cooking pizzas with the receipt under the dough, so they knew whose pizza it was. Problem is, part of the receipt cooked into my pizza.I sent a direct Facebook message to this location along with an email to the address that supposedly handles feedback & complaints. Guess what they said? Nothing. Not a single word or reply. This was weeks ago!
