My wife and I went there for dinner on a Friday. I had the Crab Cakes (delicious!) and my wife had the Lobster Roll (delicious as well). Both dinners were quite tasty and the service was top notch. We ate at Salt Air the previous night and Chesapeake & Maine's Crab Cakes were far superior and also larger as well.We will be visiting Chesapeake & Maine again in the future. See pic of crab cakes, sorry but I'd already started to eat them.
During an off-season trip to Rehoboth we were hard-pressed to find an open establishment for dinner with most places several weeks from opening for the season. So we chose Chesapeake & Maine on a whim.Because of the scarcity of open restaurants, this establishment was hopping. We ended up seated at a high top table directly in front of the door which was a tactical error on a cold and windy post-Nor'easter day.The menu isn't overwhelming but what they offer they do well. The waitstaff was charming and helpful, offering suggestions and answering questions. The restaurant name reveals it's offerings with coastal dishes from the Chesapeake bay and the state of Maine. We started with the crab dip which was served piping hot with fresh lump crabmeat and a cheese and cream sauce. It was delicious! For entree we enjoyed a classic crab cake sandwich with an authentic Maryland lump crab cake. The portion was generous and bursting with the flavors of the bay. While we were there during the tail-end of the off season, the restaurant was serving whole Maine lobster for 15 bucks which is crazy, but in a way that was a huge hit with the patrons partaking. They have a full bar and a menu of craft beverages that are well-poured.Prices are mid-range to slightly high but you get what you pay for and it's money well-spent.Chesapeake & Maine is a great eatery with amazing service and delicious food in a cozy yet lively environment.
Great food. Had the $15 lobster and sides the were discounted at 25% during happy hour.Going back Memorial Day weekend for my birthday for another lobster dinner.
The crab cakes were some of the best I've ever had, and that's saying a lot. Also, best hush puppies ever and delicious collard greens. Our waiter was excellent. We enjoyed our first time at your restaurant immensely. Thank you!
Tried the vegan “crab cakes”’. Not really crab like but they are very tasty. Tonight is the crab cake sandwich, can’t be beat !
Had a great time at Happy Hour on this early season Saturday. Crab dip. Vegan crab cakes. Whole lobster and boardwalk fries. Of course, the oysters were excellent!
My wife and I really enjoyed our meal here, convenient location on Rehoboth Avenue, and great seafood. Multiple oyster selections (some hyper local Arrowhead Point oysters were particularly good) delicious seafood (Maine bake-clams, mussels, potatoes) with fried brussels sprouts.....my wife loved the burgers. Wonderful, friendly service (thanks Sophia). Full bar, great negroni!
Staying at Dogfish Inn offers a flight and App for 15. Lobster all day everyday 15. Almost all patrons at the time when we were there took advantage of the lobster deal. App, Lobster and beer was excellent. Burger average.
I recommend everything. The food is delicious and the staff are just lovely.
Ordered a beer and cocktail first both were really good BUT that’s where good ended. We ordered apps drunken clams and raw oysters the drunken clams where good but we never got the oysters. Entrees classic burger and whole lobster special. Burger extremely salty along with fries also to salty to eat. Lobster meat nonexistent barely 2 forks full of lobster Ordered a slice of Smith Island cake to go at $10 per slice see photo what a rip off
