I ordered food for a New Years Eve party at my house, and I was really impressed! We ordered lemon grilled salmon, the roast beef and spinach artichoke dip. Everything was delicious!
This is my go to restaurant when I'm in the area. I have tried many restaurants... asides from the high prices, food was not good. This seafood market has cooked meals and they all are pretty good. It's convenient to pick up other items along with uncooked seafood and sides to prepare meals at home. Since my hotel room only has a mini fridge, I need my food cooked and in smaller portion. I didn't feel like having a real meal today, and ordered the pumpkin lump crab bisque which was $9 because of the lump crabmeat. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot if lump crabmeat, and the meat was in small pieces. I was thinking "Jumbo" Lump Crabmeat, that's not the case. It tasted good and I wish there was more crabmeat though. The cream of seafood was delicious, too. I wanted a small portion of Mac and cheese but have no way to heat it up. With my pups in the car, I didn't want to wait. The lady was so nice and found one already heated up. Unfortunately, the crust was very hard and it was cooler than warm, but at least I got some Mac and cheese, not going to complain too much ?. I ad to add some salt to the Mac and cheese. I also got a peanut butter pie. Parking is usually real bad because of the restaurant next door. There are about 4 curbside pick up parking spaces. Recommend ordering online and do curbside pickup.
I am really disappointed. I talked this place up with my family and friends. - great entrees and superb sides. Big Fish was to be our go-to restaurant for fabulous food. That was not the case, so we had to venture elsewhere for the rest of our meals during the week. The meals weren’t bad. Just ordinary. I expected more. Their fried fish had the taste and texture as if was made hours before, and Their potato salad, that was once so delicious, was flat and boring. I guess that is the problem with high expectation. Perhaps this was an off night. But their failure to live up to their reputation made rethink our return.
This used to be a great place for lunch. I loved the Wednesday box lunch special. They have changed the menu and portion sizes to the point that they should stop doing if it doesn't bring in good margins. The wait times are beyond normal and acceptable as well. Taking advantage of repeated customers is not a way to go.
I used to go here all the time for the Lunch Box Special when I worked at the nearby outlets years ago. I went back recently and it is nowhere near what it once was. There used to be a fantastic shrimp salad sandwich on the menu but it's no longer part of the special. I ordered a french dip that was comically small and had no fried onions on it like the menu indicated. The menu also says that the meal comes with homemade kettle chips (plain or Old Bay) but when i opened my box there was just a bag of store bought chips. I'll give it another shot someday but I was really disappointed with this visit.
Food was pretty decent. But the waiter was overwhelmed with the number of outdoor tables he had to serve and didn't even give us menus. Took long to order, long for food to arrive, and long to pay. Portion size was small for the prices.
Went to the market part of the restaurant and got scallops which smelled very fishy when I got them home. Stunk up the house. Not turned but not fresh which is the reason I went to a fish market rather than a grocery store. Also asked for a strip steak and got a ribeye. The steak was okay if not what I asked for. Also got coleslaw which was surprisingly good.I asked them if they had any ice since it was a hot day and I had to transport $60 worth of food back to the house. They told me I could buy one of those 10 pound bags of ice. Gee thanks. Any supermarket would have given me a little ice for the ride.If you want decent slaw, maybe go here.
Enjoyed an evening with a friend. Good service as well as food and drinks.
we had the Scottish Salmon Platter. It was prepared perfectly, would recommend this to anyone who likes Salmon.
