I’ve been wanting to go to agave for a while, and now that they opened up a new location here, we decided to give it a shot. Didn’t live up to the hype. The food was good, but it wasn’t ‘wait for 2 hours because they don’t do reservations’ good. It was no better or worse than any other non-chain Mexican restaurant. The drinks were good. The classic margarita was well mixed and tasted great. Definitely boozy. The service was pretty good. The server didn’t know what some of the menu items were, even when he left and asked around. That was weird. He was very nice though and made up for any shortfalls.Desserts were good but wildly over-priced. Two small scoops of ice cream for the same price if an entree. They have a pastry chef that comes in which is cool and the banana tres leches was great (but not really tres leches).Music was odd. Apparently they only use the “Latin club” station on pandora. It was also to loud. All together, I won’t be going back to this location. I may try the other original location to see if it’s any different, but I assume it’s not. Not worth over a hundred dollars for two people.
First time at this location was a bit disappointing. Our enchiladas were cold and doughy served with cold rice. I especially thought it was very rude to tell us we had a time limit on our table!! Nothing like feeling like you're on a time clock to enjoy a meal.
AMAZING! My husband and I sat at the bar for a couple hours and were treated like royalty. Theo is a GREAT bartender! He not only made amazing drinks but he also had terrific recommendations for what we should order for drinks and food. We watched him make drinks and he put a lot of effort and care into each drink, ensuring they were perfect to serve to customers. We really enjoyed the guac sampler as an appetizer and we also shared the steak and blue cheese quesadilla, which was delicious. I got the original margarita, and for the second drink I got that same marg with a sangria floater and that was incredible. My husband got Sweet Heat and it BROUGHT SOME SERIOUS HEAT. He was sweating while he drank it. We finished our meal with espresso martinis and then a personalized treat from Theo. We cannot wait to be back in Rehoboth and go again.
I came to Agave because I heard the food was excellent it’s a beautiful place. The drinks were fine. The only thing I actually liked was the banana tres leches cake. The food wasn’t even good. Rice dry. Beans flavorless. I ordered enchiladas they were nothing special. Basically you can compare them to any other Tex-Mex restaurant.
The new location is beautiful. Lots of open space and tons of bar seating with multiple bars. We can't wait until the patio opens because the inside is VERY loud- like hard to hear your date across the table loud. They need some sound dampers. The drinks and food were excellent. My only food complaint is why are there only fajitas for TWO! Can we please have fajitas for one added to the menu! I didn't want fajitas but my wife did, so being a good husband, we got the fajitas for two. But I would have liked to try something else.Definitely a great addition to the Route 1 dining scene.
Tacos were excellent this time. I made a suggestion that the slaw that it's topped with was too wet, making the tacos fall apart. Thus time the slaw was drier and the tacos stayed together, was very good and fresh. The rice and beans were just fodder for the plate. Rice was dry as heck and the beans were tasteless
Very good food. As far as producing high quality food for the masses, Agave does a really good job. They take their cuisine seriously and that's nice. The house margaritas are great. Food is very tasty and there was plenty of help to make the meal go smoothly. Recommend.
I have a new favorite restaurant in Rehoboth. We sat at the bar and had fantastic service. Everything was delicious and so fresh. They do a ton of gluten free items and some I've never seen at a Mexican restaurant. It's also great for dairy free and vegan dietary preferences.
Agave is a very tasty pizza place located in both Lewes and Rehoboth Beach. We went to the Rehoboth Beach location. It was very busy on the night we went on and w were had to wait a while but it was worth it. The drinks were excellent. Particularly the red Sangria. Everyone really enjoyed their food as well. My surf and turf burrito was fantastic! We would definitely return!
Great experience at the new Agave in Rehoboth beach! The margaritas and the fish tacos were both delicious, and the restaurant ambiance/decor itself is really great. Will definitely return.
