In my opinion Peruvian food is one of the best in the world. The fusion between Asian countries and South American countries truly makes Peruvian food unique. The Chicken House did not disappoint and will be back.Lomo Saltado- The lomo was a little dry but still had the classic taste of garlic, onion, aji armirillo and soy sauce. The meat was fresh and the white rice was cooked perfectly.Beef Empandas- Imagine lomo stuffed into an empanda... This was sick and was a unique twist.Alfajores- Cookies were so moist and melted in your mouth. Milk/Coffee with this dessert was ideal.Green Sauce- The green sauce was average but its so delicious that even average green sauce is still game changing. I personally could of used more spice but it was still enjoyable.Overall- This is the type of quality I expect when I go out to eat. Everything was fresh and home cooked. Not the most amazing Peruvian food your going to have but it is amazing for the area.
Very good Peruvian style (rotisserie) chicken. The chicken is always very tasty. We usually order chicken with yellow rice, which is very good. The chicken platters are a very good value for your money. They have many other classic Peruvian dishes however, the lomo saltado is very good. Very nice and clean establishment. They are currently still only doing take-out. Large group orders are very easy to do, and quick.
I have been eating here since it opened. The Peruvian chicken is amazing. Even since moving 30 minutes away we still will make the drive fir takeout. Wife and kids get excited whenever it is suggested.
Delicious food, great service and friendly staff.
Been here at least 20 times and they’re consist delicious! Money well spent
BE AWARE THIS PLACE WILL NICKEL and DIME YOU for every little thing. The review is not for food. Food is ok but service is bad. Placed an order worth over $35. By the time I picked up the food I asked the cashier for 1 extra green sauce cause usually 2 small serving sauces are not enough for a whole chicken. She told me that it would be $.5 extra for it. I didn't have enough money and I found it very rude and grimy to ask $0.5 for a small sauce, while the customer just spent over $35 on food from you. I am a businessman myself and this behavior is unacceptable in business. I have been buying from this place for a while, guess what?! you just lost a customer for a stupid $.5 sauce. Let your $0.5 sauce now bring you back my business. I hope that owner of this business read this message and tell his employees to stop this nonsense specifically when you have customers dropping 30, 40 to 60 dollars on orders. You should feel ashamed of the way you conduct your business.....
Best Peruvian food in the area. The bistec a lo pobre is delicious, as is the bistec con tallarines verdes. Chicken is also super good. Great go to takeout place in Newark
Half chicken and yellow is my go to for the kiddos for a quick dinner. Veggies are good. Fluent in Spanish and English
I’m from NY and this place taste like home cooking. Definitely worth trying. This my 2x and I’ll be back. Staff are nice please support this business.
Our family loves the mixed grill meals (parillada). Generous servings of cuts of meat that are seasoned well and served with potatoes, sweet plantains (maduros), and pieces of casava. It’s served with rice beans, salad (amazing dressing), or sides depending on which version you order. We love the salad dressing, think similar to hibachi steakhouses, so we typically order that one.Due to COVID they’re only doing takeout.
