The dirty martinis and the whipped ricotta are a must. I didnt get to try the broccoli rabe as it was sold out for the evening but the cannelloni and spinach with delicious. Also had an expresso martini with a pistachio cannoli that did not disappoint. Overall is it was an amazing experience. Lots of great food for fair prices and the service was amazing! Emma was our server and she couldn't have been any better. She was attentive but not overly so. She was just great! I cant wait to go back and try more things.
Food mediocre for the first time. No flavor and very disappointing
Food was OK but not impressive for the price. Three bland meatballs for $11? Mediterranean salad without much more than lettuce. Waitstaff is polite but needs a lot more training. Our server did not check our table during our meal. Overall the menu and ambiance here are good but the food quality, preparation and service are underwhelming. Will not be returning.

Great eating experience and wonderful atmosphere. Server was excellent, responsive and attentive. I love their pizzas on which I always put a fried egg! If you’re on Main Street in Newark, check this place out. They also have an extensive beer selection.
The food was delicious. One person in our party had the pizza, one had the pasta carbonara and I had the tuna. The reason I didnât give the food a 5 star is because I had to cut the fat all the way around every piece of tuna. I wouldnât recommend ordering the tuna for that reason. The bread and and everything else was delicious.
Overall we had a nice experience at Taverna Rustic. It was a very busy atmosphere. The restaurant is trendy looking. The service was a bit slow, but it was a Friday evening. Our food was very good. I would recommend dining at this establishment.

3 of us ate there last night and we were very hopeful based on the reviews but would never go there again. We shared a pizza app and asked for it to be extra crispy. It came to the table not crispy at all, and when we asked the waiter he said" there's a new kid in the kitchen so he's just learning". We were hungry and didn't want to wait to have it recooked so we ate it, the flavor was good but it was a bit salty. For entrees my son we ordered the chicken canneloni, That was the only dish that we liked. It had nice flavor and was seasoned well. I got the beef brasata which was very greasy and over salted. My husband got the pork ragu (a daily special) and it was completely inedible due to the huge amount of salt. Clearly no one tasted it, if they had they would never have sent that to a table. Also the waiter had told my husband it came with risotto which he wanted. When it arrived it had no risotto, but potatoes. He asked the waiter about that and the waiter said he was sorry and would bring a side of risotto, which he then charged us $9.00 for. We sent the ragu back since it was not edible, and I ordered a salad instead, which they charged us for. The search for a good restaurant in Newark DE continues....!
