We went there today after not going for about 15 years for personal reasons. While the food is quite edible, it is NOT Authentic Korean cooking. It has been Americanized to the point of being bland for the Americans that visit here. Nothing wrong with that, a girl has to make a living, I get it. Ditto for the 3 Korean restaurants on the Big Island in Hawaii. (Can you say pineapple in your Korean food? I didn't think so.) If you are looking for Authentic Korean food in Delaware, forgetaboutit. Go to Philly or Ellicott City.
We came in for the first time on Father's Day to this place seeing the high rating on here. Honestly, I'm not too sure if we just got super unlucky or people's expectations just aren't what they used to be.We asked for a table with a grill so we could have BBQ, they sat us and we had to wait about 10 minutes to even be spoken to by the waitress. Not a big deal, I saw they we "busy." It's 10 tables max in the place and only 8 were filled at any given time. Place our order and the lady (didn't introduce herself) took our order. Appetizers were fine, fried dumplings and spicy pancakes. The issues arose with our main.We order 3 entrees to cook on the grill and they bring out three skillets of already cooked meat. Let them know we asked for BBQ and there was a mistake. The lady told us it was OUR fault, apologizing, but reiterating that we should have told them. When we said we did, she said we didn't tell her, but the girl who took our order...No duh? She said she would remember our face and make sure they got it right next time and did not offer to make it right. Would have looked the other way, but the food here was hit or miss. Bulgogi tasted like it had either turned or was cooked in something left sitting out for the last few days.Even after all of this mess, she didn't come back to our table again to ask how everything tasted until it was check time. It was a bit late to tell them that they had forgotten my wife's rice and we were sharing.Overall, mediocre to awful food. Poor service and staff that genuinely seem overwhelmed with 10 tables split between two servers. You don't need to remember our faces for next time. We will not be back.
The food is ALWAYS excellent. this time around it seemed that the younger waitstaff was less eager to "DO"... but the older ones picked up on that and followed up behind. All in all, a wonderful Father's day dinner
Delicious food! Came in Sunday afternoon and it was busy, our wait was very short and customer service was excellent... Will definitely come back.
rock solid Korean BBQ. the bulgogi was insanely delicious and well worth the price. all the sides were outstanding as well, particularly the kimchi which was bright and tangy without being too hot or spicy. I'm looking forward to coming back soon.
Very disappointing experience. There is a tall brunette waitress with zero customer service skills. She constantly bangs all the dishes and is unapologetic about her attitude when it is brought to her attention. She is very rude and uncaring. Her discourteous behaviour will lead to them losing a lot of business. My boyfriend and I were becoming regulars but will not return after such nasty service.
We started becoming regulars here at this restaurant for the last month and we were enjoying it until we encountered a waitress that works there (lean, tall, dar brown hair) that was quite aggressive with her tone and her behavior. Of note, people of asian descent were not treated in this manner. At one point, she slammed our food down and it was very noticeable––it literally gave us pause. When we tried to address the incident, she was very curt and cut us off before we could explain why her behavior was so off-putting and proceeded to walk away. It was very disturbing and as a result we decided not to leave a tip (DUE TO RUDENESS) and won't be going back there again. Professionalism and courtesy, especially in a restaurant like Seoul Garden, should be the standard. Very disappointed. If this waitress continues to work there, I can see them progressively losing their clientele as people go there to enjoy a meal and not to be treated with unabated disrespect.
Great experience! My husband took me on a date here and as soon as we opened the door the staff were very welcoming. The bulgogi was perfectly marinated and the banchans were refilled when they got low. Their cucumber kimchi was so amazing, fresh and delicious that I got a takeout container full of it to bring home! We were in and out in 30 minutes, so it’s the perfect spot for a quick lunch. We can’t wait to come back and get different food! Thank you for the amazing lunch!
We’ve been coming here for over 10 years now, last night we went to celebrate my son’s birthday. The food is always good but the service changed since then. New people, new waitresses. One of the waitresses with long hair just look irritated and unhappy. We felt uncomfortable asking for her service the whole time.
The food is amazing! It always was and still is! The service is great for dine-in or take-out. The portions are generous and the atmosphere is cozy. I've been coming here for at least a decade and won't be stopping.
