This is a hidden gem in gorgeous New Castle downtown area. The Shepheard,s Pie and Fish and Chips are award winning and people come from all over the world, for good reason. If you've lived here a long time and never been to the waterfront in New Castle you are missing out. The price point is great and no taxes in Delaware make it even more affordable. Don't even get me started on their selection of beers, lagers, and whiskeys from Ireland. Everything here is amazing. You won't be sorry!

We visited this gem of an Old World Pub while attending the parade and activities for the annual 246th annual"Separation Day" marking Delaware's breaking away from Pennsylvania. It was busy, and loud -- but that's the ambiance we enjoy when it's not too busy, or too loud! We enjoyed a fantastic crab dip in a bread bowl, and roast beef (dip) on Ciabatta with provolone, and caramelized onions. We rarely drink alcohol, especially at lunch, but the beer list was imposing and there was a fine selection of wines. The appearance of Revolutionary War re-enactors was nice touch. We plan on returning soon!

Awesome Bar, if you are looking for wings don’t stop here! This isn’t our ordinary bar, this is a Colonial style bar, featuring comfort food like pot roast, meatloaf and duck! Prices are very reasonable! If you are into seafood go check out their Steamed Mussels my wife enjoy them! Their fries are great!I had Pot Roast on a Tuesday! My wife has their Super Pill beer it’s blonde very good! I had their Sparkling Cherry Vodka Cut with Sprite, than to top it off we had Ice Cream and Water Ice both were very good!

We went later at night on a Saturday.. Greeted when we walked in, we were informed we needed to order everything we wanted all at once because the kitchen shuts down in a hour. (The entire restaurant and bar closes at 11, it was 8:57, kitchen closes at 10, we were out practically a couple minutes after the “kitchen” closed) Bar area was full and entertaining, seemed like all regulars, we sat at a table. Waitress was nice but felt rushed still. There was three separate menus: specials, reg menu, and drink. Wide range of food to order from, a lot of “comfort foods”. Tables are close together, wouldn’t recommend taking a infant or baby here, personal opinion, because of the tight seating and small atmosphere. Floors were semi dirty, straw wrappers around and such like it wasn’t swept recently(see in pictures, zoom in on floor. I understand if your busy but it only takes a minute and saw about five to six employees leave during the time we were there, so staffing wasn’t an issue) Food was excellent though, left full that’s for sure. I tried getting a picture of the outside but it was completely dark like the place was already closed for the night, no lights or anything. Parking is kinda tight in the area. On street parking only, not parking lot. If you have the time, explore the town a little. Great history in the area!

Walked in without reservations and were told 1hr wait or bar seating. We normally would have declined but we were hungry so we accepted. Jessica was working the bar and took wonderful care of us. I am gluten sensitive and Jessica paid close attention to everything she served me. She did this while handling the bar. The food was great the servings were large. Glad we stayed.

This is a perfect stop to rest and recharge with a bite to eat, dessert, or a good beer. The place itself is so unique with lots of historical elements. They have a wide range of belgian beers and a few colonial themed drafts to try. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and helpful. They serve their own beers in really nice ceramic mugs which makes you feel like your back in time. We had the bread pudding and it was phenomenal. We really enjoyed our time here.

What a great place. We had reservations for 1pm for 2. We arrived about 15 min early and was told it would be a short wait and we could sit at the bar. Our wait was so short my wife was served her drink at our table. Alicia ( hope spelled right) was our server and she was phenomenal to say the least. She recommended and had knowledge of the beers in stock. She was very attentive without being overbearing. We started with the charcuterie board which was excellent ( the sausages and Lingonberry jam was tasty. My wife had the chicken pot pie. I had the bunker hill beef. Both were delicious. The beers we had were great and they had a ton of various Belgians as well as others and a full list. This was a great experience for us and we will be back

food was great, waitress was outstanding..

The food was amazing. We had a small wedding reception in their private room (14 people). While eating, their comments included words like "delicious", "so good", and "tasty". Several people said they wanted to return another day to try other items on the menu. The staff was incredible. They went out of their way to make sure it was the perfect experience. From our initial visit to view the room, to excellent email communication to discuss our wishes for the evening, to to actual evening of our event.Everything was perfect. Thank you!

A favorite place for a good meal. The cheddar jalapeño soup is the best! Good salads, entries, desserts. Today's chocolate peanut butter was homemade by the owner's mother.
