A HIDDEN GEM, JERSEY STYLE DINER IN DOVER.I have lived in Dover going on 12 years now and have passed this place many times. I finally decided to stop in and am entirely impressed with the quality of this restaurant. If you are from Jersey and looking for a good Diner I highly recommend this place.
2022-04-25 this is the first time I have tried Romano's on this side of town. I actually like the sit down atmosphere better here than I do at the other Romano's. We of course ordered exactly what we always order at Romano's. Yep the taco pizza, and is fantastic here also! We were thrilled with the food and couldn't be happier with the service and cleanliness of the establishment. I recommend this place highly and of course I recommend the taco pizza. Unfortunately I can never seem to try anything else because I love it so much..
Great family friendly place! They make you feel at home. Family owned as well and is underestimated with service and food. Amazing employees and fantastic, fresh food. They also have a large selection of food and I honestly haven’t been disappointed in a thing I’ve had. I’ve tried something new each time I have gone and 10000% plan to go again. Overall a lovely environment. Very underestimated.
First time here did take out but when you walk in all you smell is Gas n thats not good thing...I order a pie it was ok not the best...
This place has the best food, very friendly staff. Try there chicken noodle soup-DELICIOUS!!! They really treat there customers with respect and could not do enough for you. Very, very clean. Give it a try, reasonable priced. You will be back for seconds.Jan W and Ron K
Staff was great, friendly, fairly attentive!! Not a place to have seafood. Had the jumbo stuffed shrimp, very bready with minmal crabmeat, the mashed potatoes were flavorless. I asked for butter with my mashed potatoes and was given a bowl of melted butter with no flavor. The crabsoup was ok. The bruschetta was very good. My friend had a patty melt it was good the fries were good as well. Suggestion, change where you buy your seafood, get individual butter packets, and offer baked potatoes. Just my 2 cents.
Great food! Literally the best calzone I’ve ever had. I can tell all their food is made with love. Excellent wings! Friendly staff! Restaurant has a nice atmosphere and very clean. I’ve become a repeat customer.
I just tried this eatery on Monday 12/20/2 for a late breakfast. Great portions. Decent prices (not Waffle House). Service wasn't 5* but it was decent. A restaurant manager I had said some of the worst service is when they are NOT busy.....it could have been better. Closest diner to downtown Dover.
This diner lacks a diner menu and diner prices. No breakfast combos, it's like everything is ala carte. Pancakes(3) were $7.49 with nothing. Eggs or a meat we're an additional charge. I passed on the breakfast and ordered a bowl of soup which was $5.99, pasta fagioli, and basically left it. My co-worker ordered cheese fries. It was fries with a side of cheese. The fries tasted like old grease. This was my first and last visit. I give the 2 star instead of one because they had Pepsi and that I liked.
We wanted to try this spot for breakfast and will now mark it off our list as another place in the dover area not to go for breakfast. The food was cold and overcooked, the only part of my husbands platter that was decent was French toast. His meal came with other items as a platter but when brought out only had French toast and 2 eggs (menu says 3) and he had to ask for his meats which took another few minutes to arrive. The bacon was literally so dry it wasn't even greasy and honestly looked like it had been out for a week, the sausage tasted almost as if it was spoiled. The breakfast sandwich I ordered was cold and the Canadian bacon was overly fatty. Our waitress apologized when she came to give us our check after asking if something was wrong after seeing our full plates and offered to refund my sandwich, but it wasn't her fault the food was terrible. Could we have complained and asked for new dishes, yes. But honestly we both lost our appetites after seeing and tasting what we got. Breakfast is not something that should be so hard to make decent....not even amazing, just edible but this was flat out inedible.
