From out of state and we stumbled across this bakery. Thank goodness we are from out of town otherwise we would be there way too often. Incredible mushroom and swiss quiche, the crust is light and the egg is light and airy. Apple Danish was sweet and light. Staff was knowledgeable. Haven't tried the blueberry cruffin, eclair, or the nougatin creme puff, yet from our purchases. They included a complimentary bag of sweets(assuming it was day old). Their raspberry Danish was so good. Cinnamon roll was made with croissant dough, and had nuts in it. If these items were day old, I would take day old over... hmm well anything!

Clean place, good food, friendly staff. My only tip is that even when it’s not crowded, you should expect a bit of a wait for your food. I understand that it takes time to prepare, but it eats into the lunch period. Call ahead.

friendly staff, prompt service, variety of choices, great to have a party catered, come in early for the best selection and to beat the lunch rush.........??

Amazing pastries and bread!! Love this shop, it’s my favorite place to go for lunch, I love to build my own croissant sandwich! The Cruffin (no matter the flavor) is the best thing you’ll ever taste! And if you come here you’ll also be supporting wonderful and talented crew of people! Love this place!!

Great selection of delicious homemade food.

Chef made the most beautiful and delicious baby shower cake for my niece. The cake was the best cake I have ever tasted. Everyone at the shower couldn’t believe how delicious the cake was. So many compliments to the chef! Thank you for bringing your talents to Dover!!

I gave this place a break as a young male clerk who is now no longer working here heated up a piece of quiche by taking it in his bare hand, no paper, no glove and after he heated it up, he handed it to me again in his bare hand. He kept wiping his nose and his mouth with his hand and scratching at himself. I thought he was on something. I would not buy the item and left. I tried speaking to the manager about the incident the next day, but she was quite rude to me and did not seem to care. You need to remember that your customers keep you in business, your not doing us a favor by selling your goods to us. If someone, takes the time to come in again and tell you about a health issue incident, you should listen and control yourself better when talking to the public. I come for the quiche because you make it so much better than I can. The pastrami and swiss and ham and cheddar and crab are unusual and excellent. The petit baguettes are also a favorite of mine, fresh, crusty and authentically French.

Visited this bakery which has a small parking place and is fairly busy. Bought some pastries including croissants. Having lived in France sadly the pastries are very sub standard in comparison as the pastries lacked the butter and were very hard . The croissants were totally no resemblance to a proper French croissant. It’s was more like an bread dough because first of all it lacked butter, the layers of each single sheet before binding them together were simply too thick which produced a very hard pastry layer , no resemblance to a proper authentic French croissant. In fact I’ve had better croissants at Lidl bakery. Pastries had the same faults because the dough was not properly prepared resulting in hard pastries . A bit disappointing maybe because we know what the authentic product should taste like in texture and pastry quality.

It’s called serendipity. Riches from an unlikely source. In search of a decent baguette in Dover for some soup that I ordered, google directed me to La Baguette an hour before their closing time. I wasn’t hopeful that anything would be left let alone lose myself In a genuine French boulangerie/patisserie in downtown Dover. Owned by a married couple, they could not have been kinder and more genuine. I ate half of one baguette in my jeep on the way home and felt transported back to Paris, Aix, Bordeaux, Marseilles… Check this place out!!!

I've been all over the US, and my husband has been all over the world, and this little bakery in Dover Delaware is hands down the BEST bakery both of us have ever been to! We're addicted! All of the staff is so friendly and warm too!
