Atmosphere is just phenomenal!!! Older building from the 1800’s that has been converted into a nice, relaxing, inviting restaurant that feels like you are eating at grandmas house. The building still has the 1800 feel and architectural feel to it. The food, as you can see, was presented beautifully and prepared perfectly. With a main dish that good, I absolutely had to see what the dessert was like. I’m glad I did. Pricing was spot on and worth every bit of it. I will be back next time I am in town. We need more restaurants like this. Awesome job Grey Fox Grille!!!!!
Great food and atmosphere, Loved the old and new vibe all at the same time. Sat outside and had a decent sized work party that was accommodated very well. Great service and the food was delicious. The fried pickles in particle were fantastic
Great food and service. Some delays but they were beyond the control of the restaurant. The servers and kitchen rallied to insure our experience was good.I'll happily and eagerly return when I'll back in Delaware.
Oh boy, what a hidden gem! I drive right past it at least half a dozen times a week. Everyone loved their meal. The table had the Black Fox Salmon, Cottage Pie, Chicken Cordon Fox, Eggplant Stacks, Fried Pickels, House Wings and the Buffalo Chicken Ranch Flatbread. The salmon was the best I've had years! Everything was really hot and fresh. The server did bring out the wrong dish but corrected it right away. Also enjoyed our selections fron the decently sized drink menu. Really charming early Americana decor. Will definitely be returning especially once the outdoor area opens up. Only issue to be aware of is that the restrooms are on the 2nd floor and you must climb stairs to get to them. I asked about this and they are looking to add accessible restrooms downstairs soon. So you may want to call ahead if that is a concern.
The food was great. Unlike most restaurants, they aren't afraid of flavor. Even the veggies were great. First time here but definitely not the last. I just wish I wasn't 45 mins away!!
Mixed reviews, drinks and appetizers were great! Main entree was questionable, 5 steaks ordered, 3 were sent back raw.. asked for mashed and came out with miced garlic potatoes that no one asked for. All in all a 3, still had a good time.
Beautiful place. Nice staff. Nothing special about the food. Had pork dumplings starter very little flavor but nice crisp fry. Partner ordered wedge salad with steak medium rare. Unfortunately medium to well. Had seasoning but not cooked to order. I had fettuccine Alfredo with local made sausage. The sausage was not to my liking, but that is a personal thing. The fettuccine Alfredo was NOT fettuccine but a much thinner noodle and had a weird taste. Hard to describe but not “worth the calories” as stated in menu. Only saved by a large portion of hog pepper flakes. Tried pineapple upside down cake for dessert. Or what you think/more like a pineapple gelee with cake. No caramelization. Did have a nice local blueberry blend wine. We ate dessert because we DID enjoy the trivia night contest. Even won & hit a gift certificate which we could not use that night. Doubt we’ll be back. Oh well
Awesome food and service!
So good to be back after the pandemic in this old historic house. The food was terific! The house-made salad croutons are light & super-tasty! The steak & the bacon wrapped shrimp were fantastic. Enjoyed the free birthday dessert, too - apple-caramel crisp a la`mode! Will go back again soon!
We stopped by here after an afternoon in Dover. This was just a place we found but sounded interesting. We stopped in, first this place has great character. It is old but has great ambiance. We had the tacos of the day and the chicken and bacon flatbread both great. They had half price martini's, I had cosmos for about $5 and they were excellent. We did not get the bartenders name but he really was great. Also, met a person there who is a regular, great talking with Bill. He let us know that the place used to be a mortuary and then shared some ghost stories along with one of the waitresses there and all of it was fascinating. they have live music it is only a dinner place and I know we only had a small sampling but you have got to go here. We will be back.
