My overall experience was wonderful and my server accomodated all my requests and needs. So happy I was able to snag a last minute reservation on Open Table! I love the small plates and was able to try a variety of items on the menu. My dessert (rose and chocolate ice cream with brownie and pistachio crumble) was the highlight of the evening!

The food was wonderful, and our server was great, but the service was too slow and cumbersome. The staff just kept giving us bread while we waited for our food. I contacted the restaurant to celebrate my friend's birthday, but the staff did not acknowledge the special occasion. The octopus and lamb were superb, but it was a disappointing dining experience.
Server was wonderful. Food delish - best beet salad and roasted Brussel sprouts.
Food was delicious but service was ok. Could be attributed to an off day. Waited about 10-15 min for our server to take our drink order and we had to flag someone down to get them to come over. Seems like the server was dealing with an issue a nearby table experienced. Server seemed more attentive after. Good sized portions and tasty.
Was very eager to try Zaytinya after all the good press reviews. It's a mixed experience. Weekday lunch: The outdoor terrace is lovely the biggest plus in IMHO on a nice moderately warm DC summer day, incredible ambiance. We were warmly welcomed by staff, very professional. Server was fine...was catching up with an old friend and then realized after some time that people who'd come in after us were being served. Our server disappeared, found another server. Seems our ticket did not materialize in the kitchen ?! (My friend had guessed this was the issue.) Entrees comped and good thing-over all disappointed, spanakopita esp so. Should be a standout at a Med themed resto. Hummus with lamb- nice. Salad-tiny. Friend enjoyed her salmon wrap sandwich. Mocktails Aegean Sea/Cucumber-mint nice. Willing to try again. Realize that many places are having service issues, so word to the wise. They did the right thing esp since it ended up being a rush into order to get back to work when food finally came.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. While the food was delicious, we especially wanted to compliment our server, Solara. Solara made the meal memorable from cocktail and wine recommendations that were spot on to describing the courses and advising us as the meal progressed. Solara's timing was impeccable. We never felt rushed; there was never a feeling that any of the wait staff were hovering. What a great evening!
