They deserve way more that 4.3 stars. Pastrami took me back to NY.Must visit!
After checking out I checked my receipt and saw that I was charged $19 for EVOO that I did not purchase, so mentioned it to my friend who then checked his receipt and saw that he was charged $10 for chocolate that he didn’t purchase. We went in to ask for our money back and everyone played comepletly clueless and the “Manager” said he refunded the money to our cards. Two weeks later I have not received my money back and no one will call me back after several attempts to get in touch with a Manager. $19 isn’t the end of the world but it seems like something shady is happening when it’s two customers in a row this happens to and then money was never refunded. Check your receipts!
I was charged $19 for EVOO that I did not purchase and have not been refunded after 2 weeks. Management will not return my calls, very disappointing.
They sell very delicious sandwiches here :) I tried their pulled pork sandwich (with pickles instead of coleslaw). The pork itself was a bit rough and chewy, but the tasty BBQ sauce made up for it. My mom is obsessed with this place which is why I offered to try the food from here, and honestly I’ll come back again! :D
Liked to shop in this place and the market place. Stopped by last week but not able to buy anything, too chaotic, no social distance, no organization at all.Yesterday, We’re in the area and decided to grab something to eat for lunch. It was too crowded and busy! Lots of people in this place. No social distancing here, no control of how many people come in. Too many people, with no space to social distance. We waited 15 mins for a sandwich.Pandemic is still around!!!Watch out WAGSHAL’S put your act together and protect your customers!!!!!!!Easy to catch Covid, in your Mass Avenue stores. You don’t feel safe!!!!!!Note: Sandwich was too expensive $$$$$$$ and very poor quality $$$$$. Sadly they are taking advantage of the pandemic price increased situation. Not going back there !!!!
Literally the best sandwich I’ve had
I know my tuna salad. I also know that the best tuna salad sandwich I've ever had--and possibly the best sandwich I've ever had in general--was at Wagshal's. Located just 0.3 miles from American University on Massachusetts Ave, this crowd pleasing deli offers a vast menu of sandwiches, candies, and tantalizing baked goods for fairly reasonable prices. The options are virtually endless; the toppings list at the sandwich bar goes on and on. Service was not too quick but not terribly slow either. The atmosphere in the small but cosy dining room is quite festive. Whether on a bagel, sourdough, or pumpernickel, I will most certainly return to Wagshal's for more great sandwiches.
They make a tasty packed beef pie with a great crust.
Placed an order for "Loaded Texas Sidewinder Fries" via Doordash. It's supposed to have "cheese, pickled jalapenos, burnt ends and scallions" with the fries. Mine didn't, even though the receipt showed the correct item name and the correct amount ($10.99). Doordash quickly refunded the order, but shows Wagshal's lack of attention to details and/or lack of employee training.
When I worked at the Ski Center across the street back in the the 80’s and 90’s, Wagshal’s was our daily bread. Their Rueben was my first and that set an extremely high bar. I keep ordering Rueben sandwiches all cross the country with hope that is quickly deflated.
