Some of the best food I've ever had

Good food at excellent prices for DC.Let's start with the obvious: The cafeteria -- and its "public" status -- are not obvious from the street. Also, there's a pretty significant security presence at the one "guest" entrance. Nice folks though! Just let them know that you're here to visit the cafeteria and you'll do fine. The selection is quite wide, for a cafeteria. In addition to the open chafing dishes of main course selections and sides, there's a salad bar, a bibimbap shop and a sushi/noodle bar. For bonus points, be here between 2:30 and 3 pm. The food selection is more limited, but also sold at a significant (30%?) discount.

Great cafeteria! Such a variety of healthy choices!

Arrived at 1300, most of the hot food stations were shutting down already...the sesame chicken I had to settle on did not taste right. My husband had Kung pao beef that he thought was good. Wish we would’ve gone elsewhere....very disappointing!

When working for the Holocaust Museum I ate here, for breakfast and lunch, for more than a decade. They had everything from hamburgers, to breakfast pizzas, to a salad bar. And from what I understand they have added more. Open to the public - you just have to find the right entry way. Warning - from what I remember VERY business during tourist season. School groups love to dump their kids into the cafe during lunch. Still, cheaper then the museums if you have a family to feed.

We had high expectations but were rather disappointed. The prices and food were average cafeteria fare. Unless you're in the area this is not worth the extra effort.

Food is very good and cheaper as they have deals worked out due to subsidies. Healthy options. Clean.

Heard this was a great place to eat, but everything except the hot bar and salad bar is closed for the holidays. Building security employees were rude and unhelpful. Not much directional signage or indication of security protocol. Would recommend the cafe at the Museum of the American Indian if you’re in the area.
