Delicious and beautiful food. Friendly staff. Call for best takeaway price. I'll be back!
The sushi is very so so (a bit below grocery-store sushi) but the location and service are nice.
Great sushi place. My waiter was very nice and friendly, it made our experience enjoyable. I will definitely come back to this restaurant.
Been coming to Tono for a few years now, usually for the Happy Hour Sushi. The price has gone up from $1 to $2 for certain items, but is still quality. The restaurant, at one point, did have two floors, but since reopening after COVID generally just see the downstairs open. Very friendly staff and large selection of sushi, noodles, appetizers or main entrees. Great little spot about a half block from the Woodley Park Metro.
The food was amazing, we loved the Sushi, soup, Ramen, and Noodles dishes. Would love to visit again. Wholesome food.
Kind and courteous service. Food was good, not great. Shrimp in cooked entree dishes not fresh. Curry grainy, not well blended.
Absolutely fantastic happy hour (shhhhh don't tell!) $4-5 boozy drinks and $2 per 2 pieces of nigiri! That fish tastes fresh and sizes were decent. Excellent customer service even tho they were busy. Highly recommend
A tiny little place with limited seating, it felt cozy and intimate. Our server was a riot. Super cute older lady with an infectious laugh. Ordered Sushi, Ramen, and Gyoza. The ramen had way too much broth in that ginormous bowl with not enough noodles to compensate. Dragon roll was a bit dry even dipped in soy sauce. Food was good. The company and service made up for what it lacked.
We went on a Saturday night in the happy hour slot from 5.30-7.30pm. It was a really mixed experience.Sushi was very good considering the value (esp nigiri). We also really liked the crunchy maki options. The miso was decent but a little colder than I would like and the Yaki soba noodles were fine but again, were a little cold and lacked flavour.Drinks were also good value in happy hour.We particularly liked the lychee mojitos. Most of the negatives were not related to the food or drink. The ambience was seriously lacking: there was cold air blowing on an already cold evening and the lighting was so stark that there was no atmosphere. Service was pretty poor even though we could tell the staff were trying really hard and were friendly. They were so stretched that they were taking orders, clearing tables, making cocktails and handing over deliveries with just two people. It means service was slow and we even had to ask for chopsticks after our food had arrived!Definitely go if you just want some cheap/cheerful happy hour sushi but don’t go for a date night.
Our sushi was fresh and delicious. Staff was super friendly. Went for the $1 nigiri on happy hour which is a great deal so I’ll definitely be back!
