Really interesting place with good cocktails

Great ambiance! Good food, great drinks. Pricey $$$

Where do I start? The Setting is what DC food scene has been missing.Chef Kiran Saund & Chef Dylan Snyder have done it again - creative geniuses. Their attention to detail on all fronts is exemplary.Delicious gourmet bites that you can eat with your hands. Intimate & sensory greatness. BTW,the floor color & music changes with each course (head explosion emoji).Great service from all staff. Michelin star worthy.I am looking forward to going back to experience their new seasonal menu! (Mouth watering emoji)

The food was fantastic, the service was great too!

An evening at The Setting was the perfect prescription for mid-winter pandemic birthday celebration blues. The tasting menu samplings and cocktails were all artfully and thoughtfully prepared to the extent that picking a favorite was impossible. The complex combination of flavors and textures paid a beautiful tribute to dishes all over the world. The cocktail menu was equally phenomenal and provided an extra layer of enjoyment to each dish. The staff was incredible-welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout. Definitely will be back for round 2!

Far and away the best DC dinner experience to date. The menu is thoughtfully curated, incredibly creative without feeling flashy, choice ingredients throughout, and basically just a non-stop ride of some of the tastiest bites you’ll find. Aside from the food, the pairing cocktail (and in our case, mocktail) menu really highlights their commitment to top notch flavor combinations and presentation. The entire staff, from the bar to kitchen, were warm and welcoming. Outstanding all around. Get in there and experience it for yourself before the secret it fully out!

As someone that is always looking for new experiences in the DMV area, I was ecstatic to come across my new favorite cocktail bar. From the moment you walk in you’re greeted by staff that are looking forward to ensuring you of the best experience in town. The design is one of the most unique, a fine “setting” indeed. While all of that is nice, it’s the drinks that will keep me coming back. Cocktail architects is the only appropriate way to describe the bartenders at work.If possible I’d give it more stars, can’t wait to go back.

This place is absolutely amazing. The small plates are top notch, the atmosphere is great and the staff are super friendly and professional. The presentation of each dish is so unique that you are fully engaged with your food. This really is an artesian experience, so Foodies rejoice!

This place pleasantly surprised my boyfriend and I. We are by no means restaurant bloggers, or have any culinary experience outside of what we choose to cook at home or the places we’ve visited in different cities- but the flavors that j. Schneider and his sous chef Kay at The Setting Dc offered up are easily one of the top 5 places we’ve eaten at!We could taste all the hard work that the chefs had put into each of these small bites. J. Schneider actually let us know that he previously came from Bar Mini, and his experience shows! Bar mini has always been one of our favorite places for small snacks with drinks, and he has carried those legendary snacks with him to The Setting DC! Seriously if they let me, I would eat like 3x of everything- if my stomach allowed it. Which btw, for a tasting menu- i left very satisfied quantity wise- and that says a lot as I’m known for having a bottomless pit for a stomach. My favorite moments outside of the food was the tour of the kitchen; when you see it, you will be amazed at how such tasty treats come from this space!Other favorite moments included the chef knowing about a top 50 bar that we visited in Chicago, Three Dots and a Dash, as it showed us the depth of his knowledge, and we enjoyed small talk about how we tried to confit egg yolks ourselves at home! This restaurant offered flavorful drinks and delicious small bites, and a personalized experience from the staff— we will definitely be returning! If you are looking to take a chance on a restaurant that is brand new— take a chance on this one!

Amazing drinks and atmosphere. Service was awesome. Definitely should stop by.
