The food was amazing, definitely would recommend

I received the wrong entree and had to wait 20 minutes for the correct entree while my spouse had his meal. To buy time I ordered a few glasses of wine. I would have expected a thank you complimentary glass for the error. The atmosphere in the front room seemed to be for families which is where we were assigned, two adults, yet the back room which is more quiet and geared towards adults was available. This was the most disappointing dining experience we have had in years.

I booked our reservation with friends as a pre-show dinner before going to the National Theatre. Our reservation was for 6pm, giving us ~75 minutes to dine before we’d have to walk around the corner for our show. I made note of our plans in the OpenTable reservation to make sure the restaurant knew our timeline. We arrived on time and had to wait a few minutes to be checked in by the host; we were then told we had to wait a few more minutes because they “had other parties to seat first.” Once seated, we waited some more before our server (who was very kind and capable) came to take our drink orders. Our dinner order (one entree per person, nothing fancy/complicated) wasn’t taken until after our drinks arrived, so at this point we only had about 45 minutes before we needed to leave… still plenty of time. As 7pm neared, the waiter stopped by and said he’d check on our entrees. Several other tables near us had received their food already, even those who had been seated at the same time or after us. At this point I pointed out our schedule and asked for the check to be brought out with our meal. One of us also ordered another cocktail which never appeared (fortunately we were not charged for it). Our food finally arrived at ~7:10pm. We wolfed it down quickly and paid so that we could get to the theatre on time. While our server was apologetic, at no point did management come to check on us or remedy the situation, let alone explain the reason for the delay. No compensation was given on our check. I almost couldn’t leave this review because the Hamilton cancelled the reservation AFTER we checked in. I received a confirmation of seating email from OpenTable at 6:11pm. At 6:13pm I received a second email stating that the restaurant had cancelled our reservation. It’s unclear why this happened but it’s not surprising given how many elements of the restaurant seem to be dysfunctional. I can’t say I’d consider returning.

As always The Hamilton doesn’t disappoint. I love the atmosphere and that while it’s a fancier place they are able to accommodate children really well too. Our server offered some great suggestions and we all had delicious meals.

Excellent service, food, and drinks! Had a wonderful experience with zero complaints. Highly recommend getting a steak and any of their handmade pastas!

This was my first time dining at The Hamilton and I wasn't overly impressed. The service was somewhat slow (although they might be understaffed like a lot of restaurants right now), and the food was just average. I was expecting much more. I had the brisket sandwich and the meat was very fatty. The French fries were extremely salty. My friend had to send her chow chow back because it was cold. The restaurant itself is nice and spacious.
