I'm so happy that these guys are back. Was my go to back in 2016 but most of their locations closed over the years. One of the best hoagie in my book!
The Colonial was the worst sandwich I have ever attempted to eat and keep down. The cranberry sauce could not even be found on the sandwich, but I doubt I would have been able to taste it, anyway. The only flavor in that sandwich was the overwhelmingly garlicky kale. Usually, I love garlic and am quite heavy-handed with it in my cooking, but this sandwich had way too much and it completely overpowered all the other ingredients. Even removing the garlicky kale did not help, as the ridiculous amount of garlic had permeated all layers of the sandwich. I had to brush my teeth six times to make a dent in getting the garlic flavor out of my mouth. I still tasted it after that, but that at least made it a bit less nauseating. On top of that garlic disaster, hoagies do not have a crust of sesame seeds on their rolls. This place is supposedly inspired by Philadelphia and Philadelphian hoagies, but that inspiration only comes through in the sandwich names. These sandwiches are nothing like Philly hoagies and are just disgusting. They are even worse than the sandwich shop named after the New York City transit system and that is impressively bad! Finally, the cracked spuds are nothing more than unseasoned, overcooked, dry breakfast potato chunks. They are not the appropriate type of potatoes to accompany a sandwich and they really had no flavor. Salt, pepper, and ketchup could not even save them. Do yourselves a favor, if you are at Pike and Rose or are scrolling through Door Dash, just avoid this place. Your taste buds will thank you.
Ordered two cold subs, both great! Flavorful combinations that aren't usually found elsewhere (brie and hot cherry peppers with dressed arugula, 10/10). The bread is both crunchy and fluffy - definitely the best out of any sandwich focused chain in the area. Generous portions for the price too, as a large sandwich is easily two meals.
I used to love taylor gourmet's sandwiches especially the rib eye cheesesteak. It's been a couple years since my last visit and after today I don't think I'll be returning. Today I ordered the rib eye cheesesteak and let me tell you it was nothing like how it used to be.
Ordered Taylor Gourmet on Uber Eats. It came up as a black owned business near me so of course I wanted to check it out to support. And the food was great! I ordered the California Avenue sandwich. I should have gotten a regular size but I got a large and it is just that. A Large ? I also tried the cracked spuds and they were ok. Would def eat here again ! Thanks for the freshness
Inedible. I ordered two hot subs, mozzarella wedges, and two drinks. Delivery was quick. The drinks were missing. The wedges were overcooked and cold. Both subs were cold, soggy, greasy messes. I had to wash my hands and wipe my countertop after unwrapping them. $38 down the drain, plus fees and tip (not the courier's fault). New owners/managers have had time to settle in, and this doesn't even compare to the old Taylor Gourmet.
The best mozzarella wedges.
Got an Italian sub to go. It was delicious. Premium ingredients.

First let's start with the customer service...Phenomenal! Kenneth and the young sister who was calling the names, was hands down great. I would hire them if I owned my own business regardless of type. The food was fast and delicious. I am thankful that everyone else was closed today as it made me stop in. I will be back!
