Yikes…lol. The vibes/atmosphere were off from the start, when we had to ring a doorbell to enter. We came for dine-in. They had the most uncomfortable music playing (can’t describe it, my partner and I both agreed we felt like we were in the bottom of the titanic). It was truthfully suffocating and the last thing we wanted for a special night out. Servers took so long for small things, and the restaurant was literally empty. They did the opposite of making us feel at home. We both got really frustrated and ended up taking it all for take out. This is the first time we’ve ever done that-it was just that off. Sushi itself wasn’t the worst, but very unimpressive and overpriced. But definitely not worth returning.

We had the $180 omakase and were not disappointed at all. Nirigi and maki were all well-crafted in traditional style with fresh ingredients. However, we were more impressed by the work that went into the appetizers. Even the deceptively-simple chawanmushi came with complex and rich flavor that you can't find in many places. The two last photos were unagi don and sushi from the a la carte menu.

The food is fine but I would not recommend to try omakase here. Some nigiri are not fresh, you can taste the fish is melting in your mouth without the texture that’s supposed to be. I talked to someone about the fish and she just said she would inform the chef. I didn’t get a response even when we headed home. It’s over price and the price doesn’t match their decorations. There’s still something good: my friends said their takeout are better and toro/chutoro/otoro are good. I would probably try take-out next time. Their website is also great because I would love to know what’s in season and the latest arrival.

When you walk into Sushi Ogawa, you recognize that it is a humble place. The ambience is more like a mom-and-pop style sushi place, but the omakase was top tier. The variety of dishes was delightful and well balanced, and the chef was personable and engaging. It was everything we wanted out of an omakase. The $240 price point was a little steep, but we will definitely be back.

This restaurant is a total rip-off. Server was good. Sushi was good. But they were not worth $240 a person. For that price, you want the fancy atmosphere, not cracked glass door,… you want server to Wear a uniform, not jeans. Server had his cell phone nearby and washed hand with water (not soap). For sushi place, this is unprofessional. You want the chopstick to be special not a cheap disposable one,,,. The food and experience was worth $80 person. This place is a fraud and ripoff. Not sure how they are staying in business. Probably they are dependent on random tourists who come there only once. I feel really bad to provide this review specially that it is hard for restaurants to survive because of pandemic. I do believe that we were ripped off today and that is not a good feeling.

I had MATSU SUSHI ASSORTMENT DELUXE for two. It was to-go order, nicely packed and fish was fresh and rice also taste good.

One of the better omakase experiences i've had, the fatty tuna and uni are next level. Also best miso soup ive ever had. The chef was also a great guy and very hospitable. ? If you want to treat yourself, look no further than this.

Overall an enjoyable experience. My party arrived slightly late and was accommodated well to the best of their ability. The chef was displayed his talent amazingly and was able to answer our questions at same time regarding fish and preparation.

Hands down the best sushi I have ever had! Salmon that melts in your mouth and service that makes you feel like family - now my go to takeout!

I strongly discourage anyone from dining here. We were seated at the sushi bar with two young women who made speaker phone calls and played videos the entire time we were there. Restaurant staff looked uncomfortable but did nothing to assist us despite our request. I would have left but the restaurant demands that you pay for the entire meal in advance. We spent a lot of money to have a miserable experience. I have sent messages to the restaurant but not had the courtesy of a reply. Many better options are available in DC.
