Nice place, I'd dine in next time. I did think it was expensive for what we received and I didn't think their menu was super unique. Overall I enjoyed the food.
We went to Gakyu for our 10th wedding anniversary and I really regret it. I'm so sad to post this but it was a special night for us and Gakyu did not deliver. The sushi was good, of higher quality certainly. However, the service was rushed and it certainly did not feel personalized. At the end of the night our table was forgotten and we sat with our dirty plates in front of us for a while and then even moved them to the next table while we waited for our dessert. The meal was nearly $300 and in total, felt like a poor experience.
Nigiri was small and rolls were nothing special.

Really enjoyed the food here, especially the chefs special spicy tuna which had fresh jalapenos.Only been there once, but the service was a touch slow even though the restaurant was only half full.We'll definitely go back, we'll just be a little bit more diligent about getting faster service!

The service at this place is consistently genuine. The staff is friendly and hardworking. The sushi is great. We often enjoy the chirashi because of the preparation and melt-in-your-mouth sashimi.
