This place has some of the absolute BEST food and the absolute worst service i’ve ever seen. Mandatory 25% service charge which I would fully support if there were waiters or servers - but other than the person who brings you your food when it arrives, you are on your own the entire meal. No one takes your order and no one checks in on you. And an 11% service charge was added when we picked out our own wine at the wine shop downstairs and bought it at the register 2 feet away. I am all for paying servers a living wage (!!!!) but it would be nice if they worked or did anything at all before forcing me to pay such high gratuity.
Stopped in with some friends after dinner to grab some wine. This place has a really hip & cool vibe to it. They have some indoor seating, as well as an expansive outdoor seating area. They were running propane heaters & wood burning stoves to provide heat on a chilly evening. Would like to go back on a summer evening to sit outside when it's warmer.
Fun, vibrant outdoor environment hidden away from busy streets. Giving 3 stars due to price and lack of ability to engage with waiter. Charcuterie and wine were way more pricey than they should have been for quality.I love going to wine bars and talking with the waiter/sommelier to discover new wines. Because you have to order on phone, it takes away from personal experience.
Fantastic time! The owner came over and made sure our entire party was having a good time and had a great conversation with us, the wait staff was incredible / super on point, the food was amazing. The entire environment could not have been better, and they know their wine! Highly recommended!
Cool space, nice vibe, excellent music, and delicious wine. I live in Evanston, IL (just north of Chicago) and would love to have a St. Vincent Wine nearby!
While I very much enjoy the atmosphere, the pasta, and good selection of wine the enforced 20% service charge will make me hesitant to return. Working in the restaurant industry, I fully support tipping 20% or more for actual service. But this is not what you receive from St. Vincent. Ordering from your cell phone with no interaction from the staff and simply being delivered a bottle without the staff pouring glasses or even waiting to ensure there is no issue with the wine does not justify an automatic 20% service charge. If this cost is required for the business to operate, then simply charge the appropriate amount for food and wine. Food is delivered in the same manner, simply placed on the table with no interaction from the staff or without any return to ensure that the food was cooked correctly.
St. Vincent Wine is a great place!! The ambiance is wonderful and really feels like a cozy wine bar. The food is amazing! The food menu has so many unique and delicious items and the drink menu has a wide variety of specialty cocktails and wine. I will definitely be going back to St. Vincent and I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in trying.
Great outdoor ambiance with a wide variety of wine by the bottle. Service is easy through the QR code too. Unfortunately, the food we got was mediocre. The charcuterie board was straight from a Trader Joe's and the fried apps were a little on the soggy as opposed to crispy-crunchy side.
The hostess and bartender were just lovely individuals. The place has its own atmosphere to it with a nice upstairs and outside balcony. The drinks were delicious and food was more and better and I expected. Will come back and have already recommended to a friend!
What a nice spot!! Had live jazz, the wines we tried where delicious and the food was delightful. Cozy atmosphere inside. They also have outdoor space.
