Dined on the duck entree. Yum-O! Excellent! Fresh, well prepared. One of my favorites is the sea bass spring rolls. Beautiful decor. Love the open picture windows. Great local restaurant or even destination restaurant. Authentic. Reasonably priced. Very nice staff.
I love this restaurant and make it a point to visit when I am in the city. Consistently amazing, high quality food and ambiance. Lots of veggie options and the staff is always quick to let me know of which dishes contained fish sauce.
Spices is a great local Asian restaurant located a half block from the Cleveland Park Metro. As a vegetarian that have great tofu options including tofu fries with delicious spices and my favorite, Bali Tofu (pictured). It is seared and has a delicious peanut based sauce. Everyone who has eaten here with me and orders anything from noodles, chicken, beef to sushi has always enjoyed the dishes. Can get them spiced to your comfort.Great spot if you are in the area, fresh and quick turn around time.
Okay food. Sushi temp was a bit questionable. Service is awkward. Prices are way too high for the quality, or lack thereof. This was my second visit. I walked out before ever even being seated the first time I visited. I literally stood in front of the sushi line, asked if I should seat myself, and was completely ignored. Every employee on the floor that evening walked past me but nobody would acknowledge me, so I simply walked out. The fact that I returned a second time is a miracle, but I honestly regret it.
So-so at best. The food is really salty and sweet, over seasoned and as a Korean I can surely say this is not authentic Korean or Japanese food. My server didn't even notice we didn't have a QR scan code until we had to ask for a menu. The sushi (cold food) came after my hot plates were already finished (why exactly..?). I lived in the area for about 4 years now and I recently made my first visit; probably will not return because the prices are high and the food is mediocre. Btw what you are seeing in the pic is $20+.
I’ll be honest. The sushi is not bad. However, it’s not a quality beyond what you can find at a grocery store. What’s upsetting is that they charge like $20 for a small amount of sushi. Other items on the menu are average. I wouldn’t come back.
The good here is great! They have a wide selection of Asian food - so far, I've had Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese dishes. My favorite combo is the shrimp Thai fried rice and chicken sate skewers. I usually have to take home half of the Thai fried rice.
Had an amazing experience here tonight! Quiet spot with amazing service, beautiful looking sushi and great food. Enjoyed a great dinner with friends. We all had a nice spicey shrimp and mushroom soup packed with good size shrimps and tons of mushrooms. I also enjoyed the drunken noodles and my friends enjoyed the basil eggplant dish. Service was kind and helpful in navigating the menu! Get the spicy sauce on the side (made in house)Also following all COVID precautions if this is of concern :)
I'm so sorry, but this experience was very very dull and underwhelming. Perhaps it was an off night. We only ordered 2 appetizers and were not inspired to order more. The music was barely audible, bad sound quality and was a radio station with commercials. On a positive note, the waiter was very sweet and the sake and beer were delish so there's that. I had a gift card to burn, but I don't think I'll be back as I'm not tantalized by the ambiance nor the menu items. ?
Every item we ordered was absolutely delicious. The presentation was fantastic as well. Sashimi was great, and my udon was perfect. I'll definitely come back.
