Located right across from the entrance gate to Lincoln’s Summer Cottage. Funky little throwback diner with a local’s vibe but still tourist friendly. Burgers are great and offered in a variety of creative combos. Chips and guacamole are made in house and are delicious. Good selection of beers, both draft and cans. Staff is friendly and efficient.
My favorite burgers in the city! Try the Barstool Rodeo. Andy and the rest of the crew are friendly and straight up awesome cats. Live music, diverse beer list? Come on. This place rules.
We want to hear for a friend's birthday and I would have to give the food of score of just being okay. The waffles that I had didn't really have much flavor to it the amount of syrup they gave me was so little that the waffles just sucked it up and they were still dry. The chicken really didn't have too much flavor to it either all in all we did have a good time there with friends and the bottomless drinks is definitely a plus.
I have been there twice for their Monday Burger Night. The decor is kind of goth-ish mixed with 60's hole in the wall neighborhood bar. The burgers are excellent, the Punk 77 cocktail is potent and good, and the service is great whether you sit at the bar or at a table. They are Covid conscious and clean.
I edited this review after a comment from the owners, who made me realize I had falsely accused them of not changing the deep fat fried oil often enough. Sorry about that! I guess I have no idea why the fries are so leathery and disappointing, but they are. Great vibe, cool events, great bar...but the food is consistently mediocre, burgers included.
Best rock and roll bar in the region. Excellent beer selection, all the food is excellent, and the cocktails are inspired, not pretentious. Highly recommend slash nuggs and the Barstool Rodeo.In one of the bathrooms there's a poster of Debbie Harry that maintains eye contact with you the whole time. Feels very cozy.
As someone who has Celiac Disease, I have not gotten sick from their delicious gluten-free buns! They have a creative burger menu and they also offer their creations in hotdogs and chicken. Their waffle fries, tots, and fries are pretty good too! As a local burger joint, give them a try! I am glad I did. I only marked off a point from the review because their customer service is lacking... I always feel like they hate that I'm in there or that I bother them. So I order out and then leave. They usually seem busy, maybe that's it? I'll still go there and order out.
When I 1st discovered this place they wanted a $10 cover charge. I had lived next door for 4 years. I was absolutely crushed by how much disrespect they had by doing that. Only months earlier had the previous establishment been riddled with bullets through the glass and through the walls. I laughed and took my group to red derby instead. Since the pandemic I have since givin them a second shot and I have been pleasantly surprised. The bartenders steal the show and that's the sign of a great bar. Go have a beer shot combo ??.
Great burgers, great vibes, fantastic crew and service! Not only are the burgers absolutely delicious (butter toasted buns YES), the staff are some of the best in DC! Ali, Sam, Larry and Gabbi are awesome!! So friendly and so good at their jobs, they keep us coming back to Slash Run!
