Hands down one of the best pizza joints in the city! They continue to expand their offerings, the pizzas are always hot, cheesy, perfect crust, lots of toppings, ample sauce, and on time! The wings are amazing too! Oh, and while you wait you can drop into Scarlet Oak and get some of the best service in Navy Yard! Definitely recommend picking up in person so you can meet their friendly staff and ownership!

Best deep dish ever! The Moe's Pie is an instant favorite- can't wait to come again! The ranch is out of this world!

It’s rare I go to a pizza place multiple times, but I find myself choosing Side Door again and again. One pizza is great for two people to be full and have leftovers! I’ve recommended Side Door to friends and will continue to recommend them to anyone looking for great Detroit style pizza in the DMV area.

Pizza: Really good, nice thickness, and the crust is PERFECT. Would have preferred a tad bit more sauce but still great. The ranch and pepper mixture is a must.Caesar Salad: Made with brussel sprouts and pretty good, however the dressing is a little bland. Another review stated needs a more powerful flavor and I still wanted to try it, but concur.Staff: Great customer service and friendly!

I grew up on Detroit style pizza being from Detroit area. I can say over the past few years Detroit style pizza has become popular. I have never had a pizza as good as this Detroit style pizza. The best, give it a try.

I really don’t know the culinary difference b/t Detroit, Chicago, Sicilian or deep dish pizza but this is a very good hardy pizza that easily serves family of four. I highly recommend if you like this style of pizza and sauce.

We were thoroughly disappointed. We tried this place because of the great ratings and drove quite a ways to DC to pick it up as this is a Carryout only space with a table at the door to pick up. Also, I’ve never been to a pizza place with no sausage. We settled for pepperoni and meatballs. So little sauce that our pizza was very, very dry and the pepperoni was Burt. The Arancini was just alright at best as we have certainly had better. The Greek salad I didn’t understand, it was chopped beyond measure and swamped with sauce, with a big scoop of mashed potato and for $11 only about a two spoonful for the three of us. We added more lettuce. Worst $50 we’ve spent in a while. According to the reviews many love it, we did not and really wanted to.

I love me some Detroit style pizza so I was thrilled the find this place after moving to the area. Got a pepperoni pizza, risotto balls, Brussels Caesar and some pierogis. Pizza is served with like a little spicy pepper (?) concoction and ranch on the side (right up my ally!). The pizza was so damn good - very filling. I would have liked a more flavorful dressing on the Brussels but my friends loved it as is. Pierogis were tasty and the risotto balls were good but not my favorite (there was a bit of a tang to them from one of the cheeses that wasn't for me but again my friends enjoyed them as is!) Looking forward to ordering again soon!

Phenomenal, pillowy pizza. Had the Hawaiian and it was the best version I've ever had with enough toppings to be substantial, but not soggy. Also, ready right on time and incredibly fresh. Will absolutely be making this my go-to pizza place.Edit: Have visited twice more since this review, and still consistently amazing. Also, the perogies are sublime; Adam (a new member of the staff) mentioned they've become his passion during the pandemic, and it definitely shows.

the BEST pizza, sides and service. Love everything about this place.
