The staff did such a tremendous job explaining the menu and the chef’s local vision. The delicious meal from appetizers to dessert did the rest. A definite recommend!! Our favorites were the Surryano Ham and Buttermilk Fried Amish Chicken.

Showed up on a Wednesday night and sat at the bar and we had the best time. I had only been here for brunch when it first opened and the dinner service was incredible. Had great cocktails and our bartender was also excellent with recommendations/pairings. We had some fantastic oysters, in addition to a tomato appetizer and a fluke main dish. Everything was fresh, herb forward, and beautifully presented. Some of the more interesting flavor combinations that I've had at any DC restaurant in a while. They also pull herbs from their garden that's just outside the restaurant. Will be looking for an excuse to go back ASAP.

We did the chefs table. Super fresh, innovative, tasty dishes thoughtfully prepared in an open kitchen where things run smoothly. Phenomenal wine menu with interesting small grower producer selections.

Great food but more importantly great people!

We had the opportunity to celebrate our 25th Anniversary at the Chef’s Counter with the tasting menu and it’s definitely a do again! It was an amazing, exhilarating, and foodie-licious experience! If you get the opportunity, DO IT!!! The food, service, and drinks were all phenomenal and we will be back as they change their menu frequently! Watching the chefs work so closely was such a fabulous experience!

Walked by to check out the brunch menu… a staff member came out to explain the breakdown of the different courses. We decided to try it and had a fantastic experience! Fernando was very knowledgeable and welcoming. All staff were extremely friendly and the chef’s food was impeccable. 10/10 would recommend and will be coming again in the near future!PS the new nitro cold brew was great!

Absolutely wonderful brunch! Delicious food, attentive and friendly service, nicely balanced and fun mimosas, and all way reasonably priced than a meal that good should be!

I booked here to celebrate my partner’s birthday on a busy Saturday night. We were looking forward to getting a bunch of oysters to celebrate and try the bone marrow appetizer. The restaurant had sold out of bone marrow the previous night. And the restaurant said they’d rejected that day’s oysters for not being high quality enough… it seems silly that a waterfront restaurant only has one source for oysters, especially with the DC fish market so close.I could’ve booked anywhere for his birthday but that night was too busy in Navy Yard to go anywhere else once we knew none of the food we were so excited about was available. The restaurant brought us cookies as an apology. But it was an incredibly expensive dinner not to have the food we wanted. The manager said he’d “set us up next time” but we’ve already paid too much at that place to ever consider going back. The regular menu featured classic Baltimore dishes, but I’m from the Baltimore area. And it was tough to pay $45 for the chicken recipe my grandmother made growing up, I could’ve taken my boyfriend to my home for that. I only ordered the $14 salad for myself which was just a few leaves with a pile of cilantro in the middle in a big chunk. And 22% gratuity was included, which would have be fine if the meal had been what we were hoping for… I certainly always do my best to tip well, I just feel scammed going to an oyster restaurant without oysters for such a special occasion. Overall the bill came to $75. I went home hungry.I suggest avoiding this place if you’re set on something from the menu—- they’ve probably been out for days or never bothered to source it in the first place.

Great food and drinks. But overall, the service was spectacular. Every individual was exceptional. I cannot speak to this element enough. ❤️

$17 for a Martini in a cordial glass (although very pretty) seems pricy. I had one drink and 1/2 dozen oysters. Total was $51.00, because there is a (I didn’t mention it) Mandatory 22% tip surcharge… oh, and I was sitting at the BAR…. Note: The service was wonderful as always. This is a critique of the prices, NOT the people who work there.
