Izakaya Noodles Sushi Bar

I ordered a bowl of chicken ramen from Shibuya last night. I had high hopes for the restaurant after seeing some photos from their Instagram page, but was ultimately disappointed. 1) Despite being packaged separately from the broth, the noodles were overcooked to a point where I could not enjoy them. 2) While the first few sips were pleasing, the broth lacked the acidity it needed to be properly balanced. It was so rich that it gave me a stomach ache later on. 4) Like most restaurants in DC these days, Shibuya slapped on additional fees. I understand that service charges are a direct response to inflation and losses during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I expect to pay them…for dine-in service. However, a 20% service charge for TAKEOUT is just unreasonable. 5) Shibuya’s website is out of date, and I wonder if it was left that way intentionally. I ordered over the phone and expected to pay $15 for a bowl of ramen. When I arrived to pay, I was informed the price had increased to $19. I wish the best to the staff at Shibuya, but I will not be eating there again.

Really nice restaurant and server was friendly and attentive but unfortunately the food is just ok. I ordered their ramen and the flavor was underwhelming. Again, not terrible but pretty average, especially considering the price is similar to other ramen places with better ramen. Wasabi fries were good (just normal fries but with a wasabi mayo dip). They add a 20% gratuity regardless of party size which is strange so just be aware. Like another reviewer, this kind of rubbed me the wrong way.

I used to really like this place, but the quality seems to have gone down recently. Drinks are hit or miss, food and service are OK. Maybe the way to go is to just stick to sitting at the bar, instead of the streetery. Also, keep in mind that a 20% service charge is included on every check no matter your group size (sometimes they'll remind you, often they won't).

I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere on each floor. The waiters and cooks were all exceptional. Shout out to Daniel and Mike.A good bunch of vegetarian options.

Normally I take pics of my good but I was so hungry I went straight in. The Wasabi fries and sauce were amazing but the chicken sandwich was not hitting. It was greasey, was topped with this beat like coslaw that also didn't taste that good. With this combo the sandwich was falling apart and sliding everywhere. If I had to come here again I'd get the fries Brussel sprouts and white rice they were slammin'. The service was good and after paying for me and my brother and left a tip on 2 tabs we noticed they still charged a service fee. I'm visiting from NY and we don't even do that unless it's for delivery. Don't get why but I know it rubbed me the wrong way. Would not recommend.

Really solid spot overall. Excellent cocktails (the Spanish Magic was perfectly balanced), finger-licking good skewers (sampled both the chicken thighs and the pork and they were dusted perfectly with the rub), tender and well grilled and seasoned eggplant, and competent sashimi. I would say the sashimi was the only thing that could use some improvement, it just wasn't as fresh as what you would expect for a $52 12-piece. I think you're better off getting a few small plates and a couple of maki rolls here.We dined in the cozy and dimly basement at the sushi bar. It's got a cool feel to it though others might find it a bit too cramped.Service was wonderful, our hostess was very friendly and helpful throughout the night.

I rarely post negative reviews, but I got the basic tonkotsu ramen with chashu pork, and none of it was right. The pork didn't have a sear or any caramelization. The broth was so flavorless it was practically water. There was also shredded lettuce for some reason?? And the seaweed was just two giant blocks. It was aggressively bad and more expensive than other, better ramen I've had in DC. I'm not a ramen expert or anything, but I lived in Korea and visited Japan several times, and I can tell you to take your money elsewhere. The service was also terrible, but that was Death Punch's fault.

I used to love this place, I recently ordered the bara chiraishi again. It came with mostly rice, a few pieces of eel, and a minimum amount of salmon. It definitely wasn't worth $45. I never had this issue before. So I called and was given the excuse that they ran out of the normal containers.... it was the same amount of food... no... it wasn't. The container was mostly rice. They threw a bunch of mint on the top. So mint and rice with a tiny bit of fish... if you run out of ingredients, that's fine. Don't rip people off and keep it on the menu for the day charging the same price for a container full of rice and mint.

The interior of the restaurant doesn't really indicate you're in a Japanese restaurant. Also, both the upstairs (Shibuya) and the downstairs (a different Japanese restaurant) are serviced by a single kitchen so the overall speed of service is slower. My ramen was quite good but I wouldn't rate it higher than a 4 for the less-than-ideal amount of protein and the lack of depth of the shio miso (broth), which gets muddled by the rest of the dish instead of enhancing/balancing it. On its own, the shio miso is tasty.

Decent Japanese cuisine with a passionate chef, but waited almost 45 minutes for our food. Would give this place a better rating, if not for poor service and inattentive staff members.Recommend ordering delivery than eating in.
