A really good restaurant. Nice ambiance, a little loud because of the hard surfaces. Exceptional service. They were very accommodating with my wife's allergies. The appetizers, calamari and squash flowers were good. The calamari was tender, and not deep fried, a nice change. The entrees were goid; pork medallions, lobster risotto, halibut. Good wine lust, with very nice affordable selections. We had a Shiraz grom Abbruzzo. Good food, exceptional service.
Definitely a nice spot to hang out with friends or to bring a date. The ambiance is very calm, relaxing, and modern. You get the Italian vibes as soon as you walk in. The wine selection they have is great and omg the food is the best. Christina is an awesome manager. Very attentive, helpful, professional and made good recommendations of both food and wine. I loved the Tortelli, the calamari is delicious (note: the calamari is grilled, in white wine sauce. You must try it). Everything was wonderful from begging to end. I totally recommend. people should check this spot if they live near by or is visiting DC, will definitely be back!
I attended a business dinner at this restaurant, The food was excellent and the service was great. There was not a single thing I tried that was not wonderful. A word about the neighbourhood - I was approached by ore than one pan handler a block from the restaurant and despite my having walked from the hotel to the restaurant, I took a cab home. This neighbourhood used to be OK but post COVID it is far less safe.
Fantastic!! Easy to walk past but you'll regret it if you do. Easy to reserve on OpenTable and a true Italian gem! Full bar, flawless service and food - every time. Everything is authentic from.the rustic crusty breads to the handmade pastas. A great place for a quiet dinner. Consider taking Uber as parking isn’t great in this part of town.
Dinner with friends in from NYC, did not disappoint. Intimate space and delicious food. You could not avoid a delicious choice on the menu—we tried the veal, rabbit ragu pappardelle and halibut entrees and had calamari and squash blossoms starters. So very good.
San Lorenzo and its staff were great. The truffle mushroom tortellini was absolutely amazing. The portion size was just right for lunch. There was a nice crowd at lunch time, but I was able to be seated right away and the service was very timely. Would definitely return when in the area.
Phenomenal food! Called to make a reservation for 8 on a busy Saturday night, around 2 weeks before said dinner. Christina from San Lorenzo was super helpful in talking through the food options and what the dinner would entail. Everything we ate was amazing, and because it was a fixed priced course, had plenty of food for everyone. Top notch Italian food in a funny little spot.
We had a fantastic dinner at San Lorenzo! The service was fantastic and extremely caring. We were unable to get a table during our reservation time, which was already not a problem because they have a lovely bar to eat at, but the manager Christina took special care of us because of the inconvenience. The food was spectacular and dessert was perfect. I can’t wait to return!
Lobster risotto was amazing and the seafood in the seafood linguine was fresh and cooked to perfection. However the desserts (tiramisu and a chocolate flan type thing) were awful, stale, tasteless and underwhelming
Had dinner here and the food was so good. We really loved the cocktails and the wine selection too. Service was perfect. I do recommend this place to all my friends.
