Just amazing! If you have been to Japan and you eat sushi, do not skip SUSHI (rice&fish) here! The Japanese chef/owner knows how to make the perfect sushi rice here which is so hard to find nowadays (most Japanese restaurants here owned by other Asians). For those who says the food here is bad, I suggest you travel to Japan and find out what the REAL LEGIT sushi supposed to taste like, HERE!
its a great moment having lunch at sakana japanese dining yesterday along with my family.. the kid set meal was good for my son and mines is stew beef ,uni somen also in incredible. will come again for sure.. arigato
got the spicy tuna, sakana dc, yellowtail roll, and green caterpillar rolls - all were great ! would definitely come back for quick and cheap sushi!
Good Sushi, Good service, family owned and operated. No complaints, I could see this being our local sushi spot.
The Sushi here is very basic, very small Maki sushi, not delicious. The service is good but the taste is bad.I don’t recommend it.
Great place for sushi. Narrow and cozy like an izakaya in Japan. And love the staff. We’ve going here for years.
No frills high-quality sushi! We eat here at least one time (sometimes more than once) each time we visit DC!
Sakana is a gem. I've been coming here for close to a decade. Warm, inviting and unpretentious, great quality sushi, friendly service.
Great service and sushi! Tried the dragon roll for the first time, absolutely delicious.
The sushi was not good. Small rolls, soft shelled crab tasted off, and crispy shrimp was cold (It's not tempura fried). The rolls were served on a visibly wet plate, which was a complete turnoff. The waitstaff was borderline rude and mumbled things under their noses, barely responding to anything you say. It was as if they'd all just gotten into a huge fight and were over being there and couldn't act professionally.
