Came all the way here just to see a fly in the display case & when I informed the young lady who worked there, she brushed it off like it was no big deal. Flies can carry more than 1 million bacteria on their bodies and can transfer these to contaminate surfaces and food.
I was hestitant based on the reviews but I can't let reviews sway my opinion on whether I am going to like a place or not. These cupcakes are amazing. My husband bought half and dozen and every cupcake was satisfying. They were moist and dense. I especially love their frosting because it is how I make my frostings. I will definitely come here again.
The cupcakes are very pretty and the texture of both the cake and frosting was good. That said, the flavors were lacking. We got half a dozen. The spice cake was good but beyond that...eh. If they were cheaper I'd be happy to give them 4 stars but alas, as $3+ each, it's just not worth it unless you're really craving cupcakes and don't feel like baking.
My last order was bad. The cupcakes here have too much variance in quality. Sometimes the chocolate cupcake is perfect, this last time the frosting was extremely bitter. I’ve bought the red velvet- The signature - and it can taste bland some days and flavorful other times. Summertime is another favorite and it’s been dry/stale before and moist other times. These cupcakes are way too the expensive to not taste that well. This last time was a waste of money. 5/6 of the cupcakes we bought just didn’t taste right. Unfortunately the quality has gone down. I’ve been buying RVC for 4-5 years, I used to frequent the location by the arena downtown. But this location one is not as consistent. I’ve visited this one 5 times. I probably won’t shop here anymore due to that disappointment.
I ordered/pre-paid a dozen 5 days in advance with specific pick up time per their request...the order wasn't ready and the the staff was neither professional nor apologetic. Overpriced for mediocre product and shoddy service. Won't go back, Georgetown Cupcake is just down the road.
Not the place to go if you want something sugar free. They have a sugar free cupcake on the online menu, but when I went just now the staff seemed surprised to learn that it was even on the menu. If there’s something specific that you want, it’s probably best to call and ask if their online menu is accurate before going.
Great flavors and colors on the cupcakes. There was a small amount of icing on some and then heaps on others. Will buy again just a little sad.
When the cupcakes are fresh, they are the best in the city by far.
