It’s around 7pm most of tables are not in use so for them it’s not a busy time.. After seated we waited 15 mins to get some one help to order..Asked twice to get straws… food is ok but service is just horrible but guess what? For a family of 4, 2 adults 2 kids they charge 18% service fee in the bill. Seriously?
Don’t bother. Staff could give a shit.
The menu is somewhat limited. The service was abysmal. With a built in 18% service fee, no incentive for your server to keep you happy. Our server took our beverage to refill (“be back in a minute”) while we waited for appetizer. Fifteen minutes later, hadn’t returned with beverages. Showed up with appetizer, said he’d get drinks. Eventually he brought our entrees, and went back to get beverages. The seafood was hot, the burger was warm, and the fries were ice cold. Several times we debated just paying for appetizer and leaving. Food was decent other than the ridiculous wait and the cold fries.
Really great view and outdoor seating. They have very minimal food options but an extensive wine list and drinks. The serving is not too heavy but they are filling. If you are wanting a heavy meal, this is not your spot. But if you are looking to just chill. This restaurant is a great place to have a few drinks and oysters with friends.
Staff is nice. Crab cake sandwich was excellent. Fries needed old bay. The fried oysters were bland... It seems like they did not use pickle juice or salt for the batter which is why it tasted bland... Also need old bay. The wedge salad dressing was not enough and it also needed blue cheese. I would come back here again though.
Fresh delicious great atmosphere
We had the most wonderful time at the wonderful time at Rappahannock! Our server Nakeria was charming and delightful, and despite the wait on some of our items, she made us feel attended and satisfied, and had great recommendations, like the necromancer and the low speech (I know I'm not quoting that one right) pictured below. The oysters were fantastic, the drinks smooth, and the company delightful. I can't think of a more perfect place to go after viewing the cherry blossoms on a bright and breezy day.
Oysters are incredible. Perhaps the best I have ever had. Had some that were not on the normal menu and cost a dollar more. Fantastic. Good drinks as well.
For the money and time, pickup your fresh cooked seafood just across the wharf walkway at the seafood market. This restaurant was so overwhelmingly average and service okay.
It’s our first time eating here for lunch. They have a nice outside courtyard type room. The staff is nice! Everything we ordered we loved! I’m a snooty food eater (clean, gluten free, organic if possible) and loved it all.I had sangria (which I requested less sweet and it was perfect!), the chowder was amazing, the scallop carpaccio was so flavorful and unique, oysters were fresh and tasty. The catfish sandwich had a thick piece of fish and good flavor and the side celery root slaw was good! Now I have 3 places at the wharf I like!
