Clearly came in to set up for work. Had 2 coffee options to choose from and waited until after I'd bought a $5 cup to tell me their wifi was out...
Outstanding quality coffee. I had a pour over that was just wonderful. The Ethiopian beans had all the fruity character I love about that origin. The blueberry muffin was a perfect compliment. The service was great - the barista was very personable and helpful while serving multiple customers! Kudos to Quality Coffee!! I'll be back!
Kind of confusing to get into at the moment, the coffee shop is located next door inside Commonwealth. That said, the coffee was good, and Commonwealth makes a good burrito!
This place brought delicious microroasted microbatch beans and coffee to Petworth years ago when the old terrible Safeway (known as Stinky) stood where the current very nice one, with a mini Starbucks stands. Qualia was instantly my favorite coffee spot in DC and 13 years later, it still is. I remember asking the owner back in the day if he was concerned about the Starbucks coming when the Safeway was being built...he said he wasn't since they couldn't compete with his beans as far as quality. He's still here and has expanded to Eckington. There are big operators like Philz that have made their way to DC, and if I happen to be there...cool, but I'll go out of my way to patronize Qualia. The owner Joel is a really nice guy, who has always acted like a member of the community, not someone just here to make a buck. Feel good about giving this neighborhood fixture your business...and get amazing coffee in return!
Just stop by to get my ice brown sugars escapeso oat milk, nice services ☺️will be beck. Cool place & cool people there.
Exactly what I was looking for, a nice vibe with ample seating to sit down with your coffee and get some work done. Coffee and snacks are top-notch.
This is a laid back and multi-level coffee shop with a lot to offer from good coffee to alcoholic beverages to food, etc. It is also very comfortable here and I love their decor.
Really love the beans (roasted on-site). Consistently excellent espresso drinks. I definitely recommend this local coffee shop.
Today I had an espresso which was very sour and tasted like acid which could be the result of under extraction (there could be several reasons for this, low water temperature, coarse grind etc..). I guess if you drink your coffee with sugar and milk, you will not notice it much but as a coffee purist who lived in South Europe for more than a decade where a perfect espresso is to be found at every corner, this was disappointing. The location is charming though, brings a nice vibe to the neighborhood and the baristas are friendly. Given this, I am happy to try again their espresso again, and hopefully have a pleasant surprise!
Still my go-to for hyper-locally roasted beans. A Petworth gem.
