Bread pudding was fresh, soft, and warm. They also have ice cream to go on top but this day was too hot for me to try. Etouffee was wonderful it's a must try if you like some spice. Shrimp Po boy had perfect seasoning.
Shrimp and grits and shrimp po boy definitely did not disappoint! Great flavors!
I wouldn't say Cajun/Creole food is usually my go to, but after reading the Yelp reviews of this place when deciding where to eat at Union Market, I was sold.My husband and I shared the Etoufèe and Brown Butter Bourbon Bread Puddin'. I highly recommend both! The sauce on the Etoufèe was so flavorful.I'd recommend splitting the bread pudding. We got the small and it was a pretty big portion and very filling. I wouldn't be able to finish the whole thing on my own.This place is worth checking out when you're at Union Market!
I walked around Union Market in it’s entirety and back to Puddin. I am so happy. The service was awesome. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. My food! Wow! I can’t explain my food. I took my first taste after getting in my car from my break driving my Lyft. I needed something quick to eat to take my Diabetes medication.I am so glad I got a meal. It was simply scrumptious. I saved some until I got home. I woke up in the middle of the night to finish it. It was that good. I couldn’t wait until the morning to eat the rest. I had the Etoufee with shrimp. Good God it was outstanding!I want thank the customer before that ordered it because it was truly a good choice. I will try something else next time. Thank you!
Beyond what I was expecting, I knew it was gonna be good just based off the rapport with the staff behind the counter. I opened the container to perfectly cleaned and prepared shrimp, and an amazing portion of grits. I was thrilled beyond measures, and the gumbo perfectly seasoned. Everything served HOT, and fresh I loved it! Definitely coming back.
I forgot to bring lunch to work today and did a quick check of local food on the internet. When I saw the name Puddin' somewhere in the back of my mind I remembered hearing good things about the restaurant. I ordered the shrimp and grits and the bread pudding. I enjoyed every single bite! The food was packaged so that as soon as I pulled it out of the bag, I knew it was going to be a great meal. Highly Recommend!
Walked by this place today for lunch and originally was looking for a healthy meal. The woman working the counter offered me a sample of the gumbo and the bread puddin' and all I can say is WOW!! Had a bowl of the Gumbo for lunch, then went back and grabbed a tub of the bread puddin to take home for my girlfriend (sorry health). Definitely will be back...so good!!
Food was prepared for delectable dining , customer service,food & atmosphere was comforting here in DC.
My favorite is the Crawfish Etouffee and the Bourbon Bread Pudding is so delicious… I recommend everything on the menu, actually… having tried it all… and now they have fresh Po’Boys…
The shrimp and grits are my kind of comfort food - very very tasty. Followed by the bread pudding, of course!!
