Giving them 4 based on the Oktoberfest beer and service. The eggs bene on potato cake with chicken schnitzel was just ok. Eggs were great. Not enough sauce. Chicken was a bit dry. Underseasoned. Like basic salt and pepper Potato cake was pretty bland and dry. Salad on the plate was very nice and generously proportioned. Note: the 2 poached eggs sit atop 1 cake. Crowded and a bit harder to eat than if they each had their own little cake beneath them. Service was great. Outside dining pleasant. Beer was awesome. Perfect head. Creamy and tall. Loved it. I would go back and order the hash or the burger with egg and pretzel bun. Fries looked yummy.

Only ate outside. Great German style picnic seating.Waiter gave good recommendations on beer.I got the asparagus and Brussels. Wow. Amazing.I saw the brats go by and they didn’t look authentic.Solid place to come and try

My partner and I had an amazing experience here. For the first time after many months of nothing but disappointing restaurant experiences in DC, we finally found a place we can't wait to come back to. The service was quick and friendly, the cocktails were delicious, and the food was outstanding - especially the short rib spaetzle, which I haven't stopped thinking about. I lived in Bavaria for two years and can confirm that this place is as authentic as it gets. The beer menu is just like what you get at any real German biergarten, and that sweet nostalgia made me love the experience even more. We never expected to find this kind of gem in DC, but so glad we did. Sehr zu empfehlen!

We came here because our favorite beer garden (North of here) was so packed. I didn't expect much just wanted to sit outside and have some beers and fries. Overall, it's ok...borderline a bit disappointing. The pretzel was just ok. Nothing to write home about. The frankfurter on a pretzel bun was so ordinary and not so high quality. The fries ....I thought are from McDonald's. One of the beers was fine (Oktoberfest) but the other one we ordered was so weak like it's been diluted by water. Staff was nice and tried their best.

Food is great and they have an awesome beer selection. And I am obsessed with their pretzels.Service is the only thing that sometimes can be better. I have been here several times. The waiters for the most part have been great but there is a waitress that my friends and I try to avoid if possible. She takes too long to take and bring orders and spends a lot of time socializing with certain tables (maybe people she knows). But overall I would recommend this restaurant.

Kitchen was broke. Bathrooms were broke and unusable. And the previous time I was here the bartender was incredibly rude.

Great experience. My wife is from Germany and we brought her parents and they were surprised just how close it was to real authentic German food. For any American this a great place to experience an excellent German beer menu and a good introduction into German cuisine. They were super friendly to our dog on the outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is heated but is also right on the street so noise can be an issue.Would 100% go back to explore more of the menu.

The outdoor dining was a blast. The beer was great with a good German style selection. The server was awesome and kind. A definite place to return to later.

Food is very good as is the beer. Prices are reasonable. I met two of the owners. Both are extremely nice people.

This place deserves more stars and more recognition because its a diamond. Authentic German cuisine for brunch. The menu is not complicated or overloaded witb options and every single dish we had was made to perfection. The servers (Madison L. was ours) are attentive and ready to help at a moments notice as well as well informed about the menu and the atmosphere feels close to that of Germany and I have been and lived in Europe for many years and eaten in German pubs and bars in Germany. They even got the bread right! I can't speak to their drink menu as I was here for a late breakfast but it was plentiful and if I wasn't leaving DC tonight I would come back in the evening for a couple German beers. Highly recommend.
