I visited Po Boy Jim for the second time today. As a lover of oysters, I ordered the oyster basket and added fried catfish, which came with fries, and I added a side salad. The meal came and was visibly appealing, although the oysters and catfish were fried a little too hard for me. While eating the oysters, I encountered 6 large pieces of shell or round pebbles. I brought this to my servers attention. I could have easily broken a tooth, if I were not careful.In addition, their choices of beverages were very slim! My lunch mate wasn't interested in an alcoholic beverage and wanted a soda. The only soda options were canned, Sprite and one other choice; they didnt even have bottled water!Our server was very nice and tried her best to help and was apologetic.Unfortunately, I cannot say I will return.
This was by far the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time! Me and my wife dined here and the food was exceptional. The catfish and crab balls were phenomenal. Cheers to the chef!
The food was pretty good. Great portions, but definitely overpriced. For a crab cake po boy, fries (add cheese and crab topping), and a dessert ($6) it was $48. Don’t get me wrong.. it’s a crab cake but not the most authentic crab cake I’ve had. I’m visiting the area so I thought it was worth a try. Maybe would return for the fries.
Food was fine but charging for Covid fees and taxes and then asking for tip on top of it was just too much for a fast food off Po boy and fries
My food was delicious. It is a laid back restaurant. I will definitely be back!!!
Food was leaning on the side of bland. More seasoning was needed. My waiter "barely spoke to me". He talked and laughed with another staff member but not at all personable/friendly towards patrons. The woman downstairs at the register/ and who served me my food was great. All staff need to have her ability to work with patrons in a friendly manner. The young man wasn't rude or mean, he just barley communicated when providing service. Restaurant does have a nice atmosphere.
So FREAKING GOOD best fettuccine I've ever had. I was only in DC for a short while so I'm trying to replicate it here in Georgia but I'm not much of a cook.
I really hate giving this business 3 stars, BUT today the food was so bad. October 13, 2021. Whoever is/was the cook, is was not good. Grits weren’t done, Salmon was burnt, Red Beans and Rice were watery. I’m sad! The last time I went in, the Mother (Owner) cooked our food and it was GOOD!!! Mama please teach these folks what to do. I’m going to take a break, and try again in a few months.
