We ordered pork bbq sandwiches and we received dry chopped pork with no bbq sauce and stale potato rolls. The cornbread was uncooked in the middle. The "baked beans" contained very few actual beans (about 15) and was mostly sauce and fatty bacon. The only part we enjoyed was the cheddar biscuits and mac n cheese. Money wasted, still hungry.

Loved it. The beef brisket is a little fatty but that's where the flavor resides. I don't like wedge fries. I love these! I would put heat in the spicy sauce not more spices. Grest if you love smoked protein! I will return.

17 dollars for 4 to 5 lil straps of fish that tasted alright.... nah..I'll pass

Best barbecue of the area, would totally repeat

Tried the Pork shoulder sandwich. For $17.00 I was expecting something more authentic. The pork had absolutely NO flavor. It was probably cooked in an electric Alto-Shaam oven. Definitely not smoked! They included a vinegar based "sauce", which had no flavor and watered down the meat even further. Lastly, they included an over abundance of fries, which no normal human being can finish. Waste. I'm giving 1 star only because I can't proceed to the next screen.

I had the brisket. It hurt me so much to throw this meat away but that’s how horrible it was. It tasted boiled and lacking flavour. And the chewing: I had to chew and chew and chew aaaaaaaaaaaaand cheeeeewwwwwwww and it still wouldn’t disintegrate. After my second bite which contained a lot of fat, I just couldn’t continue. I’m giving it 2 stars because the first time I had the food it was ok, like 2.5 stars ok but I only went there again because it was late and I was too lazy to drive to my usual bbq place and the food wasn’t as awful last time. Perhaps I got a bad batch but when people are giving you their hard earned money you need to be consistent.

The place was empty on a Friday night and now I know why. The saint Louis ribs were dry, salty overcooked and they don't give any sauce on the side except this white sauce which was horrific. I went not long before closing and I spent a good bit of money there. If they cannot serve quality food near closing then they should close earlier. I won't be coming back. The collard greens were dry, undercooked, and unseasoned. They really let me down and I had a craving for good bbq. This just wasn't it. Try Fat Pete's BBQ, Rockland's, or Dcity smokehouse all are better! Trust me I love bbq lol just not this place

Have ordered this meal several times. Epic fail this time. Burnt ends are so salty, impossible to eat and I love salty food! The ST Louis ribs are a soft, grey slab of meat. No seasoning and no color. So disappointed. I called the restaurant, fellow apologized, said they will do better which does not help me. Biscuits and side are delish. Pictures of what is featured on the web-site and the grey thing is what I received.

Very good barbecue (with one caveat— see below): meaty, excellent quality beef and pork, tender, generous portions, fairly priced and promptly prepared. The St. Louis ribs are my favorite item thus far. The chopped pork is very good, too. The beef brisket was tender and had some good richness, although I preferred the pork items. One caveat (hence the 1 star off in my rating): this is barbecue with no smoke. I’m assuming that the location in a small shopping area off Massachusetts Avenue in Spring Valley, DC does not allow for actual smoking. But if you’re willing to overlook this, I recommend Pitmaster’s Back Alley without reservation.Note: not sure if Pittmaster’s app allows you to order a different barbecue sauce with each dish. If not, I suggest that management upgrade the app to allow this.

Decent pork and chicken, loved the brisket and the burnt ends. Good mac and cheese.
