This used to be my go to for Jamaican food in the city. Was trying very hard to figure out why I stop patronizing this business maybe 4 years ago. I now KNOW!! Starting with you might get lucky with someone answering the phone. I prefer to call ahead vrs waiting in that neighborhood. Their VM says leave a message but no one will ever return the call. Today I placed an order over the phone after dialing...drum roll... 20 times back to back (no kidding). The woman taking the order wasn't friendly and talked really fast. I arrived, walked into the business and the young lady (overweight wearing bifocals) just stared, never acknowledging me. I spoke first and her nonchalant attitude persisted throughout the transition. The older lady (maybe the owner) was very condescending with instructing me on how to wait for the "ok" and pressing a key before inserting my credit card. She handed me the receipt and walked away, never said thank you or anything. Now I see where the young lady get her looks and attitude. I love our people, but love me more. I will NEVER again drive across to that sketchy part of the city to be treated as such. And NEVER means NEVER!! Even others, who clearly don't like us and don't eat the food they sell us (yall). We get their fake smiles with a "thank you" and they ALWAYS answer their phone. If you don't care to be treated like you don't matter as a customer, by all means go patronize them! I will never and NEVER means NEVER!!
Best Jerk sandwich in town. I’ve tried both the chicken jerk sandwich and Turkey avocado sandwich both are A-1. Get you one of the juices to wash it down. I got the cucumber ginger.
I ate at Pimento Grill for the first time, and I was extremely impressed by the excellent quality food; everything I ate tasted so delicious and fresh. Very flavorfully spectacular rasta pasta, juicy jerk wings, and out of this world patties and juice drinks. This is truly a diamond in the greater southeast neighborhood. Equally important, the workers there exemplified polite, outstanding customer service. I cannot wait to buy from here again; it's a real treat.
It was unbelievable it was that good!! If you have never been it's a must go to spot! It is the very best hidden secret. Delicious ?
I ordered goat it was dry. A plate full of rice and bones. No flavor just spicy; meat was mushy. I'm not impressed. If you look, I posted two pictures to show there was rice for two people with no gravy or meat. There is a much better spot on North Capital.
Pimento Grill is the best Traditional Jamaican Restaurant in the DMV area! Their food is untouchable! I have been coming here for 2 years faithfully, so much, they know my name lol. I have had most the items on the menu and all of them are delicious! My favorite go to is the Rasta Pasta with Salmon(extra sauce) and cabbage. The taste will make you get upset you don't have anymore when it's over. The fresh fruit juices are amazing as well! I highly recommend this Restaurant to anyone looking for good eats!
One of the best jamaican spots in the areaMy favorite is the Ox Tail. But give the Jerk chicken sandwich a try as well, definitely worth it.They have homemade drinks as well which are always very goodCall ahead so you dont have to wait in line
I am Guyanese and find it hard to find good Caribbean food. The food was delicious and the food portion was what it should be for the price! They gave a decent amount of meat and it wasn’t a plate full of rice. I got curry goat with rice and peas and cabbage with dahl pouri roti on the side. The only thing I will say is that I prefer my curry with white rice and this is the first Caribbean restaurant I’ve came to that didn’t offer white rice, but I can honestly say it’s the only con! I will definitely be back!!
Food is cool. Cashier seems a little rude
Food is always great, my go to is the oxtails. The customer service is hit or miss however. Most of the time it’s friendly but I’ve experienced attitude as well. So rye dice stars is based solely on the good authentic food. My favorite Caribbean spot.
