Great Pho place. The locale itself is very small however the way it is organized makes sure every table has it's own space and privacy. The garden rolls were delicious. I think they were the freshest and softest garden rolls I've had. The only thing I would've changed is taking out the celery. It was too strung of a flavor and it wasn't as easy to snap as the rest of the veggies. But the green mango in there was so so great.The pho itself was delicious. I will say, I was expecting a stronger taste in the broth but it was so delicious, it makes you think of home. The fatty brisket was not my favorite, but the skirt and the scallops that I chose as my toppings were delicious. The staf was polite and nice, they did their best to tend to everyone as fast as possible even when the place was full. 10/10 will be back and will recommend.
I had a Pho 2 weeks ago that was delicious. Then I returned and ordered a pan fried noodle seafood dish. BIG MISTAKE! The ingredients were awful, it appears the items were all from the Giant around the corner. I left most of the $20+ meal on the plate. Stick with the soups, you can't go wrong.
I'm visiting from NorCal, I've eaten from plenty of Vietnamese restaurants, and it is safe to say that this restaurant does not live up to the hype from the other reviews. The first thing I noticed was that the portions are too small for the price. The portions back home have you worried for the servers whenever you see them handle the bowls with one hand due to the bowl’s size. I understand that this is in DC, or that some places emphasize quality over quantity but this place failed to do so.I got some vermicelli with bbq pork yet the dressing was too sweet while the pork lacked flavor and was excessively tough. I haven’t tried the pho so I can’t comment on that. Overall, I'd say it's good enough for the average person, (especially a Washingtonian) just not my first pick
Unfortunately, disappointing for pho. Haven't tried rest of menu.Got a large beef pho with 4 standard toppings. Broth very watery, not satisfying at all. I'd recommend the Pho Viet USA on New Hampshire. The spicy lemongrass or beef are far better.Would love to give Pho 14 a second chance, but at $14 for a large pho, can't afford that.
It hurts for me to right this review. I genuinely love eating at this place at least 4 times a week. Today has got to be the worse experiences I've received in a while. From the minute I worked in the cashier lady with glasses and green colored hair (young asian ady) didn't looked to pleased greeting me. Every question I asked was like a chore for her. Usually they would guide you to your seat and offeryou water but I never got that service today even after asking several times I was ignored. I think she was more worried about being on her phone than doing her job. This was my first time seeing her too. But do you know That look a person gives you when they are disgusted? Yea surely got that from her the whole time I was there, the vibe was wayyyy off. So I'm sad to say I will not be coming back to this business again. A for a person who spends at least $150 every week for 2 years straight....I'm disappointed. Please train her or get rid of her.
Update 2wk later Feb 21:Got the same package for the week - 2pho, 2banhmi, 2goigun, 2bunbohue. Still fire. And the dude inside with the mullet had such wise kindness that he’s my new spirit animal. First time taking out. Not great, fat on the meat wasn't rendered well and was inedible, broth leaves a lot to be desired. I don't think I will come back.
Delightfully good. Empty bowl proves that. Not crowded. Excellent service. Delicious meal. First visit. Will certainly return
You could smell it as soon as you walked in the door. Crazy good and not too expensive. I will definitely be going back soon!!
